This Project has two parts. You will complete a professionally formatted business letter and email for this assignment. You must complete both the email and the business letter to receive full credit for this project.

Part 1: Professional Business Letter

Scenario:

I recently received a letter in the mail from Dwight Schrute at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Mr. Schrute is the Assistant Regional Manager for the company. He’s interested in selling paper products to faculty members in the College of Business. I’ve never met Dwight Shrute before. This is his first time reaching out to me. I am not his friend or a former client.

Requirements:

Please review, revise and correct the errors in Mr. Shrute's message and improve the overall content of his letter to make it more professional and persuasive. You will have to change and add content to the message to make it more effective.

Your final uploaded assignment should be 1-2 pages in length and in the format of a professional business letter.

For this assignment, you must achieve several important goals:

1. Revise and improve the quality of the content and tone of the message.to make the letter more professional and persuasive. You have to make the letter make sense! Follow the guidelines discussed in the textbook and my lectures for advice on improvements in content and style.

2. Pay close attention to errors in the format, layout and spacing of the letter. Revise the format, layout and spacing, and make sure that the letter is properly formatted when submitted. It should look just as if you were submit a professional business letter.

3. Fix all typos including grammar capitalization, and spelling errors.

4. Revise the bullet points to follow the rules of parallelism. You must demonstrate that you know how to use bullet points effectively and accurately in a professional business letter. Bullet points (in the correct parallel format) must be included in the letter you submit for this assignment.

If you want to do well on this assignment, you must change the existing content and add content to the letter. Don’t just proofread the letter. Review Persuasive Messages (Chapter 10) for techniques on external persuasive messages that will help you with this assignment.

The final assignment must be uploaded to Canvas as a professional business letter (as a 1-2 page document) as a Microsoft Word file. The assignment should look exactly as you want it to look for the client. I am unable to open Mac/Pages documents. Do NOT submit the assignment as a Mac document. Thanks!

PART 2: Professional Email

Scenario:

I recently received this email from Dwight Schrute at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company informing me that the company experienced a data breach. This is an unprofessional email message than needs significant improvements in tone, clarity, structure and style.  Additionally, the message contains several verb errors (tense and passive voice), number usage errors, grammatical errors, spelling errors, sentence errors (run-on, comma splices, etc.), and style errors. You must significantly revise and improve this email message.

Requirements:

Here are some of the things you must do to improve this email:

· Personalize the message more to create a more caring and personal tone.

· Fix several passive-voice sentence constructions to improve the writing style.

· Revise the message strategy to use the direct approach to strengthen the impact.

· Create a bulleted list in parallel structure for any lists of three or more items in this email. This message must be revised to include a bulleted list to improve the structure and presentation.

· Revise message to convey a clear, direct and professional tone.

· Fix all punctuation, grammar and spelling errors.
