Task

The assignment is consisted of 4 short essay questions. Each question weights 25%.

The diagram below shows the processes involved in the acquisition of goods for Building Blocks Company. Currently, all departments work as separate units, using their own IT systems.

Based on the information provided:

1. Describe possible IT software that might be used by the Shop to analyze goods received from the vendor. Explain the software and the method itself.

2. How might an RDBMS serve useful in sharing data between the areas shown as well as among other departments within the company?

3. At the moment, the Operations Manager at Building Blocks Company has highlighted severe losses due to coordination problems between the Accounting department and the vendor regarding the invoices and payment order. Propose some contemporary elements related to IT that could improve Building Block Company’s control of purchases and payments.

4. Considering the business units involved (internal & external), enumerate and describe at least 6 processes that could be improved implementing EAI.
