Hello,

It is important to know and achieve the program outcomes to have a successful career in healthcare administration and to understand all aspects of the career field. Once we graduate, it will be time to start exploring career options and applying to organizations. I want to go into interviews with confidence and a solid foundation of knowledge of the industry. 

To achieve this, I am fully committed to my coursework and know that I have several resources to refer to for questions and intend to use that to my advantage. Currently, I do not have much experience in the administration aspect of healthcare, but I do have experience as a patient and as a health aide. I believe that I can use some of those experiences to be successful in my program, as well as once I get my career started. 

For instance, I already understand how the financial and economic aspects of the health care industry (outcome 2) can impact the availability and quality of care for patients. Lower income and rural areas tend to have gaps in the availability of healthcare, which can be detrimental to the population. The importance of legal and regulatory requirements (outcome 3) when it comes to patient information safety and the impact that falling short of these regulations can have on a healthcare organization is also something I am familiar with. When working in a nursing home, I was interviewed about a staff member who was terminated for sharing patient information with unauthorized family members of a resident. 

I still have a lot to learn, but I am excited to eventually become a valuable member of the healthcare industry!
