Each team member must take a speaking part, and these should be roughly equal. It will not be acceptable for one member to simply introduce the group and take no further part.

4
Structure: Introduction Marking criteria (mark weighting: 5%): Appropriate scope and depth of the research topic (eg.
research title, research question, aim and objectives)
Background to your research problem or issue and organisation
Research Title, Research Question, Aim, Objectives Your rationale for this study
Topic 1: Introduction Topic 2: Formulating and Clarifying the Research Topic
5
Structure: Literature Review Marking criteria (mark weighting: 10%): Use of
appropriate literature, reviewing literature critically
The topic chosen should be placed in a pertinent theoretical context and supported by academic reference.
You may also include information on the industry or sector from other appropriate and reliable sources.
Topic 3: Literature Review
6
Structure: Research Methodology Marking criteria (mark weighting: 10%): Justification of research
methodology and method chosen Research Methodology: This should relate to
What you want to find out – ie. your research question, aim, objectives Justification on: research philosophy and paradigm, research approach,
methodological choices, research strategy, time horizon, techniques and procedures (e.g. data collection method, sampling method and sample size, method of analyzing data)
(Tips: refer to ‘Research Onion’ from Saunders’ book [Saunders, M., Lewis, P., and Thornhill, A. (2012 or latest) Research Methods for Business Students, 6th edition, UK: Pearson Education])

Structure: Data Analysis and Findings a) Marking criteria (mark weighting: 15%): Findings (eg.
appropriate methods of data analysis and presentation) b) Marking criteria (mark weighting: 20%): Analysis,
interpretation and application (eg. implications to your chosen organisation)
Presenting the primary research findings in a clear and focused manner, using the appropriate method of data analysis, discussing success of the research (ie. validity, reliability, generalizability)
Topic 9: Analysing Qualitative Data Topic 11: Analysing Quantitative Data Topic 8: Collecting Qualitative Data. Topic 10: Collecting Quantitative Data

Structure: Conclusion a) Marking criteria (mark weighting: 10%): Conclusions (eg. justify how aim and objectives have been
met) b) Marking criteria (mark weighting: 20%): Analysis,
interpretation and application (eg. implications to your chosen organisation)
Summarise the key points from the research. These should also relate to the aim and objectives set out in the introduction. eg. Justify how aim and objectives have been achieved.
Topic 1: Introduction Topic 2: Formulating and Clarifying the Research Topic
9
Structure: Recommendation a) Marking criteria (mark weighting: 10%): Implementable recommendations (eg. ‘SMART’: Specific,
Measurable, Achievable, Relevance, Time bound) b) Marking criteria (mark weighting: 20%): Analysis,
interpretation and application (eg. implications to your chosen SME)
In two areas resulting from the conclusions I. directed at the organization (ie. resource, skill,
experience of your chosen organization should have been considered before making your recommendation. e.g. feasibility, implementability)
II. areas for future research.
10
Structure: List of references In-text Harvard referencing style should be used within each slide to show the relevant references. e.g. surname, date (and page no. if it is a direct quote)
Any ideas and concepts from others used in your presentation should be included in your full list of reference in Harvard referencing style. e.g. journal article, book, website … etc.
