A project manager oversees a project so that it can run effectively. Their role is to write down a plan and follow it to the latter. Sometimes despite having planned the project activities, there can be changes that can affect the running of the project such as a delay in receiving permissions or even withdrawal of contractors due to certain abrupt changes (Harrison and Lock, 2017).

Most projects work on a strict deadline and it is the work of the project manager to ensure that everything is followed as planned. As for this project, there is a delay in receiving the work permits which initially were to take two weeks. It has been added an extra week and two contractors will release half of the staff for the project (Hornstein, 2015). Hiring another contractor is not a solution for a business meant to make profit. The work benches order supplies and build which is taking a total of 20 days. This does not need the presence of the project manager which can actually begin during the waiting period of the permit as it is allowed for them to take place after kick off. That means there is an extra 20 days.

Within the bid page framing and drywall needed 15 days each. A reduction of crew means an additional number of days. Work benches can start any time after kick off so their days can be distributed within the waiting period since the resources are different from those of permits, so there is no interference (Sears et al, 2015). There are 20 days meant to work for benches which can be distributed to framing work instead of replacing the contractor. Framing work will need 15days. Since framing, plumbing, electric and drywall have 3 days for supplies reduce the days to 2 each. The remaining supply dates can be distributed during the installation and building days. There is a moving of production and non-production days this will also be reduced from 3 to 2 days.

In total there will be 15 days which can now be allocated to drywall. Now drywall and framing can now comfortably work without strain.
