Running Head: BARIA’S PERFORMANCE 1

BARIA’S PERFORMANCE 4

Baria Company had to involve the executives or senior management in the five whys process to determine the real causes of the failure of the business and the effects and how they'll come up with a lasting solution. They needed to write the problems as to why the sales group was having difficulties in attaining their target, besides that they needed to differentiate symptoms of the group’s failure and the root cause as to why they are in this mess. The findings should be based on knowledge and facts. They should assess the process and not the employees; they should foster an environment of sincerity and trust, the basis of the findings to the question why should come from customers and the elimination of the cause will prevent reoccurrence of these errors.

The reason as to why baria company was going through a crisis was because they scrutinized its customers’ spending categories, implemented procurement and change management projects to realize those savings and lastly they identified sources of potential savings, this resulted in the rapid growth of their business they took advantage of their nascent fame of analysis methods and similar tools in the year 1997.

They adapted the approach unfortunately various larger consulting and software have ventured into the market-leading to the consolidation of smaller firms. BPS allowed the acquired firms to work semi-autonomously although the effort required was not trivial. Integration work was complete although the migration of technology projects was still in the works. Although the four firms served different industries yet they gave solutions addressing the same types of customers’ needs the similarities ended there, besides that had different service delivery process, different fiscal’s end-date and the units had entirely different technology platforms this made the company’s work of integrating parts of operations difficult thus synergies could not be achieved.

The sales group was not to be blamed for the lower win rates since they encountered difficulties in meeting the proposed deadline, this hindered BPS from putting its best foot forward in different selling situations. For smooth operation BPS structured their sales organization into three operations this improved their business performance.

They had problems in the selling process which they fixed by adapting sales divisions which were used for the business operations and they served as opportunities too. Facilitators were also hired to help with difficult tasks and also for the process and division to be efficient in their work. They also decided to maintain an industry hybrid model and streamline the team.

The four teams in the sales group will execute these duties, Data engineering will transform data into a standard format, resolve any data with irregularities and collect data from prospects, examine data for quality and consistency.

The data analysis team will come up with opportunities for supply performance enhancement and reduction of cost, in addition to that, they'll process data by using BPS spend analysis.

The team in-charge of pricing would come up with pricing proposals depending on the sales strategy inclusive of the options for risk-sharing pricing that will tie the payments that the BPS would get from the clients to the results that will be delivered to the customers.

Lastly, the proposal support team would prioritize validates, and quantifies performance and cost opportunities, manages the project, assist the salesperson in pitching and developing the proposal, develop a configuration of software, and lastly consulting to address the identified opportunities. If the company adopts the BPS proposal the company tends to grow and deliver. The team needs to stop at nothing but the lower-level root causes and also the investigation team should be supported by giving the right answers to the why questions that would be posed (Plieninger, 2020).
