So first of all, Being adaptable means being a perpetual optimist and exhibiting extraordinary resilience. Adaptability skills can be possessed both in both attitude and action, and one can’t exist without the other. In the first case, in order to be considered in the conversation, one must adapt to change and new ways of working quickly and easily, make suggestions for increasing the effectiveness of changes and finally show willingness to learn new methods, procedures or techniques.
Comment:
Adaptability is described by the BABOK as the ability to change techniques, styles, methods, and approaches. In regards to how BAs can maintain an attitude of adaptability, a BA needs to be willing to make decisions on the fly. If this is not something that a BA is capable of maintaining then it is unlikely that they will be able to effectively adapt to situations if such a situation ever showed up. By being willing, open, and responsive to any possible changes in what a client wants/needs, BAs should be able to effectively maintain an effective attitude of adaptability.
