Assessment Descriptions:
All case studies are to be submitted through Turnitin to check for plagiarism. The familiarity score should be 25% or less. Students may submit assignments up to 3 times through Turnitin as long as it is prior to the due date. The final submission on the due date will be graded. Submissions that exceed 25% will receive a 20 point penalty. Submissions will be graded only once. No rework will be accepted.
Discussions
The purpose of the discussions is to glean ideas and spark conversations between and among students. The discussions should reflect students’ knowledge regarding the discussion questions/comments and synthesize the concepts within the text, outside sources, and application to real world situations. Discussions may be opinion based but should be backed up by facts and/or rationale. See the course outline for due dates.
Individual Business Analysis Project
The student is to choose a business organization to visit and thus prepare an original case study analysis. The assignment should reflect the student’s ability to recognize and define business strategy and practices from strategic management concepts and apply them to real life situations. The student is expected to prepare the case study by following the Case Study Guidelines, Case Study Rubric and the 6th edition of the APA Manual. (See the course outline for due date.)
Individual Business Analysis PowerPoint
The student is to prepare a 7-10 slide PowerPoint summarizing the previously submitted Business Analysis Project. This PowerPoint should be prepared in a professional manner that includes transitions and animations. The student is expected to prepare the PowerPoint presentation by following the PowerPoint rubric. (See the course outline for due date.)
Team Case Study and Research Guidelines
The team case study has two components: written paper and PowerPoint presentation. There should be a minimum of 2 peer-reviewed articles per student included as sources in the written paper. The students will be required to include information from the articles within the team paper and presentation.
The team members are to work together to research, analyze, and comprise the paper and presentation. Overall analysis and synthesis of the paper and presentation will be evaluated for the team case study grade.
The team is expected to follow the Case Study Guidelines. The evaluations of the individual and team grades will be assessed on the submitted paper and presentation according to the Case Study Guidelines, Case Study Rubric and the 6th edition of the APA Manual. (See the course outline for due dates.)
