People hire based on strengths, not weaknesses. People become rich, or achieve happiness because of their strengths, not because they balanced out their weaknesses

It’s Not About You - People who rise to the top are people who offer value to others, not people who take the value of others and contribute nothing.
Are you useful to your organization? Are you useful to your peers? Are you useful to the community as a whole? If you are, you have value. If you’re not – if all you do is use others’ resources – you don’t have much value in your career.

Persistence Trumps Talent - The person that tries and fails then gets back up and tries again is usually in a better place than the person who succeeds right off the bat. Why? They’ve picked up intrinsic skills along the way and they’ve learned that it’s okay to fail.

Make Excellent Mistakes- You’re going to make a mistakes. Make them in a way that shows off positive traits as well. This often better than making no mistakes at all. Don’t be afraid to step up to the plate for fear of failure. Instead, try. You might fail – but if you try, you will gain from the experience

Leave an Imprint/a legacy - Your actions should always leave a mark on what you’re doing. If you’re working on something over a long period and your contributions can’t clearly be seen, what difference does it make if you were never there at all? You make a mark by putting forth extra effort. You make a mark by standing up for things you believe in.

There’s a popular saying: “Do what you love.” It should read, more accurately, “Love what you do.” Take the job, learn to live in the moment and love it, master it, and doors will open for you if you’re good at what you do. Turn it into a passion if you can. The most frequent life advice I give people is, be really careful who your friends are. Your friends should be better than you. Your friends should take you to new levels. A lot of people will just hang out with the same friends, and they don’t see that their friends are pulling them down. My mother used to tell me if you hang around with dogs, you become a dog
