Event Changes

Question 1

The event described in this case study significantly affects the main aspects of planning and implementing a project. The first aspect of planning a project deals with creating a budget for the whole process of project handling. At the prototype designation, many resources are likely to go to waste when the team finds out that the refrigerated backpack is not enough for the refrigerated module (Turner, 2016) this might force the project team members to design another module. This will mean more expenses and might even cause a strain to the whole project. Also, human capital is also wasted in the development of the fundamental components. The mismatch can even kill their morale and therefore affecting their overall performance in the project. People are motivated by any good results achieved and good performance. Failure to meet the desirable results or goals pins the entire group down killing their morale to continue working.

In addition, unexpected events also can cause the schedule to be altered. The mismatch can force the project team members to go back to the initial stages of the project development. This affects the overall timing of the entire project. Time is very crucial in the management of a project. It is important to create a prototype which communicates the client needs and one that cannot cause the mismatch problem within the stages of development of the project. Ultimately, the whole project is affected since one event has a contribution to the overall project quality. And therefore, given that the other components also contribute to the project quality, any impact on any of the elements causes the destruction of the whole project. For the project management to avoid these instances, there should be an increase in the labor force in the refrigerated backpack development same as the size of the refrigerated module. However, this also needs an addition of time and resources. It is the suitable mitigation still and ensures the entire project’s success.

Question Two

Reliability is a key aspect in any project. It is important that all the members are involved from the start of the project until the last stages of the project. It is there significant to have a thorough analysis of the competencies and even every individual’s ethical aspects. The ethical issues include trustworthiness and integrity (Alotaibi et.al, 2016). When a project fails to incorporate these aspects in its initial stages, the whole project is likely to be affected. The event that is unexpected the example case 2 above has an impact on a variety of components of the development of the project. First, it has a big impact on the project budget. In the process of planning, funds are allocated to a specific contractor. When the contractor resigns the budget may be misinterpreted and this results in big losses during last stages of implementing the project. In addition, human capital is also affected in the case 2 described. The contactor will only pay the employees within that premise. When he shuts down, some workers end up missing their payment and they might be discouraged to continue with the project.

Therefore, scheduling should begin at the initial project stages. By doing so, the corporation of a single contractor is ensured. All these factors contribute to the final quality of the project. To address this challenge, the project management should get a temporal contractor to work the remaining project portion incase a contractor stops working. It might strain the organization financially but it will ensure completion of the project.

qQuestion 3

1. Budget Changes

The concern of the manager is to significantly relay the changes to the top management and the main stakeholders. The management and the stakeholders do not like to have information on project product reduction disclosed to them. They also hate to know that a project will take longer to be completed, will incur more costs than planned and will b of inferior quality than expected.

2. Human Capital

The estimate of human capital will be applied in allocation of financial resources into the company. An estimate that definitive gives an accurate estimate of the cost of the project. The decisions on purchase should not be changed.

3. Schedule Impact

To avoid the effect caused on the schedule, schedule control is important. This is a part of the integrated change process of control under the integration management of the project. The objective of controlling the schedule is to familiarize with the schedule status, alter the factors which cause changes to the schedule, determine whether the schedule has been changed and be able to manage any changes that occur.
