Esin Güllü is an author who did a study for 12-age group secondary school students. His study is basically comparing between the normal physical activity and recreational physical activity for the students benefit. Gullu’s possible audience might be PA school teachers to find new methods to make physical activity more entertaining and useful for the students. The study is showing that recreational physical activity is more effective than normal physical activity. Esin studies the recreational physical activity from soccer players and volleyball players in the school and they were representing recreational physical activity side and central students for normal physical activity. Esin concludes his article by mentioning that training methods such as recreational soccer and volleyball are a highly motivating and entertaining social activity that improves more fitness than traditional training.
Esin points are useful. But it has a lot of focus on the same age of the students which I was looking to be more general for all-age students to make it to improve and spread awareness for PA teachers to deal with all students age. It is helpful for showing physical improvement in recreational physical activity.
YILDIRIM, Mehmet. “Investigation of Physical Activity Levels of Physical Education and Sports School Students.” Asian Journal of Education and Training , University of Yozgat Bozok, School of Physical Education and Sports, Yozgat, Turkey ,vol. 4 , Sept. 2018, pp. 347-355, 10.20448/journal.522.2018.44.347.355 . YILDIRIM is an author who did a study on school students and to examine the physical activity levels according to some demographic characteristics. His main audience might be students who are looking for the best choice to join a sport club in the university. Mehmet study targets university students from different sport background and from both genders. According to his article. His focus was on if there any statistically meaningful difference found in their physical activity levels as per the gender, age and body mass index variable. Mehmet conclude his study by showing the result of the study and I’m going to mention the more important and interesting to me. male students have higher levels of participation to the physical activities than those of the female students. So, we must investigate for female sport preference and encourage them to join and don’t be shy to join a sport club for their health benefits. And he mentions that physical activity can help students to quit smoking. However, it was boring because it has many numbers and mathematics and hopefully, I can work with this source for some information.
Al-Amari, Hanna. “Perception Of High School Students In Kuwait Regarding Their Knowledge About Physical Education And The Role Of Health Education.” College Student Journal, Kuwait University, Vol. 46, June 2012, pp.308-313, eds.a.ebscohost.com/. accessed 23rd 2019
Hanna Al-Amari, an Associate Professor in Kuwait University who did study the perceptions of high school students in Kuwait regarding their knowledge about physical education and the role of health education in promotion from different public high schools. Hanna possible audience might be PA school teachers from gulf region. According to the study, the students possess high level of awareness about the importance of physical education and its effect on health. The perceptions of students differed significantly; the male students had higher levels of perception compared to their counterparts for participating in exercises. So basically, we have some wrong ideas about women exercising and participate in a sport club and that must change to keep them healthy and happy. She concludes her study by saying that despite differing perceptions, measures must be included in the curriculum to ensure maximum participation. A co-coordinated, multilevel approach involving schools, communities and policy makers are needed to increase participation in daily, quality PE among all students especially girls’ students. But unfortunately, the study was applied on 2009 and since that, gulf region has changed a lot from many different factors such as social media. But it is helpful because this study was applied in Kuwait so it might help me to find some solutions for people that I know or maybe for my knowledge.
Simon, William. “Physical Education Is Key to Longer, Happier Lives. Our Kids and Schools Need More of It.” USA Today, Gannett Satellite Information Network, 12 Dec. 2018, www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2018/12/12/kids-need-more-physical-education-core-school-subject-column/2216457002/. William Simon. An Arthur who did an argument about physical education subject in high schools. His main argument that kids need more physical education subject and it should be equal to academic subjects because of the Given benefits from it. William possible audience might be anyone because the article published in a popular newspaper in the USA, but I think students and people in the education field will be more interested than others. William mention “What is the only subject in school that engages a child’s mind, body, and spirit, promotes their physical and emotional health, helps them to learn better and cultivates the character they need to become productive adults? And what subject is consistently underfunded, understaffed and underscheduled?”. William conclude his article by mentioning that schools must prioritize today, he believes it is time to make physical education a core subject on equal footing with academic classes. It is well established that children have a right to a quality education, and physical education is a fundamental aspect of that right, giving children the knowledge, they need to stay healthy and equipping them for life’s challenges by teaching persistence, resilience, and positive thinking. The article has a lot of good information about physical education subjects in schools and compare it to academic subjects and how they got more attention comparing to physical education subjects. But it was made specially for the USA students so it might be different from our region view.
MOHAMMED, HEYAM. “STUDENTS OPINIONS AND ATTITUDES TOWARDS PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES IN KUWAIT PUBLIC SCHOOLS.” College Student Journal., Kuwait University, Vol. 46 Sept. 2012, pp. 550-565 eds.b.ebscohost.com.ezp.auk.edu.kw/eds/pdfviewer/ accessed 27th April 2019
Heyem Mohammed, an Arthur who did study the student’s attitude towards physical education classes in Kuwait public schools. Heyam possible audience might be people who are looking for evaluate physical education and improve it in Kuwait. The study was made by a huge survey all around Kuwait and it contain 2700 students from both genders approximately equal. The main argument is that health education classes should be taught through physical education classes to spread awareness of the importance of being healthy from certain way. The main purpose of this article according to Heyem is” in order to change the student's perception toward physical education classes, appropriate national curriculum must be implemented by ministry of education. Physical education curriculum should be ensuring students are receiving the minimal level of physical education through their school year. Health education can be related to physical education classes and should be taught through physical education classes to increase the understanding of their quality and healthy lifestyle”. leisure time. It emphasizes that physical education must have a fixed place in the school program. It is useful source, but it only works for Kuwait based on the survey that made.
Reynolds, Gretchen. “Sitting for More Than 13 Hours a Day May Sabotage the Benefits of Exercise.” The New York Times, The New York Times, 10 Apr. 2019, www.nytimes.com/2019/04/10/well/move/sitting-for-more-than-13-hours-a-day-may-sabotage-the-benefits-of-exercise.html accessed 27th April 2019
Gretchen, an Arthur who did write an interesting article about health risk of sitting for a long time might sabotage the benefits of exercise. Gretchen possible audience might be anyone because it was published in New York Times. Her main concern about People who spend most of their waking hours sitting face heightened risks for many chronic diseases. They often also experience metabolic problems that raise the risk of diabetes and heart disease. She linked her article with a research or an experiment to be more specifically that been made in university of Texas on 10 healthy people who volunteered to sit for four straight days for more than 12 hours a day and the result show that being inactive will cause a lot of negative behaviour and side-effects. She concludes her article by saying “These results suggest that being sedentary for long periods of time may create conditions inside our bodies “that make us resistant to the usual metabolic improvements after acute exercise. In other words, if we sit too much, our workouts may lose some of their expected result. In my opinion. I can use this source to argue that children spend most of their time in schools while they are sitting because physical education considered as a secondary subject that could be only twice a week in most of the schools. However, I think the experiment was a short term and that couldn’t give you a clear result.
