It is very important for the health care workers to understand the function, purpose and benefit of electronic health record (EHR). The purpose of electronic health records (EHR) is improving better communication with patient care, the safety of patient medical records, and an improvement in health care in general. The main function of EHR reduce the mistakes in medical error, order management, health information and data, very helpful in administrative reporting and result management. Database has changed for the better this helps with treatment and diagnosis with patient care, billing and documentation. The data used in clinical setting to me is a way to reduce patient wait times and improving staffing and scheduling. That gives the patient more options when receiving care from the provider. Reducing readmission rates by using population health data to figure out which patient is at greater risk. The data changed in technology has benefit the patient as well as the provider, the patient can connect with their provider just by using their smart phone in the comfort of their homes to communicate with their physician through tele health.
