Information that does not seem to fit what I believe about myself Comment by Dale, Sarah L.: Which test/assessment is being reference

I believe that I am a person who encourages the spirit of group work because in a process like conflict resolution, working together enables the parties to resolve their differences at an accelerated rate (Weber, 2007). Working as a group requires cooperation among the members involved and the fact that I scored poorly in promoting cooperation among the conflicting parties, surprises me. I also believe that in order for any process to be successful there are some risks which should be taken. I am surprised by the information that I don’t take risks even when necessary.

The implication of the result on myself as a conflict manager

A conflict manager should have some necessary qualities and skills in order to effectively execute his mandate. Some of the essential qualities include emotional intelligence, the ability to see the cause of conflict, effective communication skills, coming up with solutions which are sensible to all the parties involved (Weber, 2007). The results from the tests indicate that I have most these qualities which are required for an effective conflict manager and therefore the results imply that I am an effective conflict manager. However, there are some aspects which I need to work on like my willingness to give up something for the greater good f all the parties involved in the conflict resolution process as the result from the tests indicated that I scored poorly in my willingness to give up something that is important in order to enable the process of conflict resolution to move along.
