revising my reseach papers
At the end of the course I would provide students short survey regarding their perception of difficulty concepts in the A&P course.
1- what the most difficult part of the course was
2- what the least difficult part of the course was
3- what organ system was the hardest to learn
4- what organ system was the easiest to learn
5- how did you find the medical terminology of the course?
All the Dmamm university classes has shifted to fully online classes for the rest of the semester in order to help prevent the spared of COVID -19 between students. In the lecture material of A&P course, lecture Severt and Dr. Ritucci are regularly posted the video lectures voice over the PowerPoint on the Pilot page for students to study. As the lab materials of the human anatomy, we used cadavers images from different online sources and lecture Severt is regularly presented the lab materials through video lectures. Additionally, there are some review materials include practice practical quizzes, jeopardy and reviewing sheets to help students understanding the materials of the course well.
In the light of COVID19 pandemic, faculty members and teaching assistants in the Dammam University are unable to meet students in person till the rest of the semester. It has been very challenging to complete my research project for a couple of reasons. Frist, I am not able to notice and observe how student’s perspective about learning difficult concepts of the anatomy materials during lecture and lab sessions. Additionally students respone to online survey have low respone rated compared in class survey , online surveys have low response rates compared to in class survey.
Finally, I would use several approaches to teach the most difficult parts or concepts of the the human anatomy course in the future. To start with, a deep approach to learning anatomy focuses on understanding meanings and deeper ideas of concepts. Indeed, the deep approach of learning anatomy enhances conceptual knowledge of materials and promotes cognitive learning on student's perceptions by using group discussions and writing reflection about concepts. Additionally, active learning and engagement during teaching human anatomy is very important for students to understand the difficult concept materials of lectures well by using anatomical games, clickers, working in small groups, team-based learning.
A mixed teaching strategies tools in the human anatomy course is beneficial for promoting student’s retentions, knowledge acquisition, and deep critical thinking about hardest concept in the human anatomy course. As regards of assessment tool of the human anatomy course, I would like to give students weekly quizzes in class include the practical and written examinations to test student's ability to recognize anatomical structures and theoretical aspects in both lectures and labs. I would like use labortatory activites to help students understand the materils of the course well
