- Use of appropriate writing style (including referencing style)

- Grammar and expression

- Evidence of research to identify appropriate case study (related to SOC251 subject content)

- Quality of the analysis/discussion, including ability to show relevance of tutorial reading/lecture concepts to understanding chosen case study.

This assessment has been set up to be checked by Turnitin, a tool which helps you check whether you have referenced correctly. You can submit your assessment task to Turnitin prior to the due date and Turnitin will give you an originality report. You may then make any changes that may be required and resubmit your final version by the due date.

To develop writing and analytical skills, students should submit a short analytical piece linking a contemporary case study to a key concept/key findings from one of the essential readings and lecture content from weeks 2&3 or 4.

The analytical piece should briefly summarise the key argument(s) or concept(s) from the reading that will be focused on; then it should show how these can help us analyse a contemporary example. Further details will be given in class and on Moodle.
