The Title of Your Paper Goes Here in Bold Face

The first section of your paper is considered to be an introduction. For your introduction, lay out your plan for your memorandum and what procedures you used for research. For example, you will research countries and populated areas for market expansion. You need not be specific; the purpose of this first section is to help set the stage for the members of your Board of Directors to make an important international marketing decision.

Also, in this section, do not insert any data, information, recommendations, conclusions, or sources. The reason for this is that when you do present conclusions, recommendations, and ideas, you want them supported by your research, analysis, and arguments—addressing all possible outcomes. By doing this, the members of the Board will have confidence in and support your final recommendations.

For academic, professional, and business writing, it is preferable not to use the first-person voice Try writing the sentence using the first person, and then take out or change the necessary words or phrases. APA (7th ed.) does not prohibit the use of the first person, but it would be beneficial to your future education to practice not using it.

Populated Area of (Insert Country) for Test Marketing

Possible Format

Since you choose the target country in Unit I, it would help your presentation to provide the Board with a recap on why you selected the country before going into the method you used to select a populated area for test marketing. For sections of the paper that address a selection process, the following format is suggested.

· State the issue(s) you are going to address, such as selecting a populated area in your country of choice.

· After you have completed your research, provide the members with all of your data, recommendations, and statistics, and be sure to identify what elements came from your sources by using in-text citations as required by APA (7th ed.). A vital element of this section is to include research that provides both pros and cons of each of the populated areas that you considered. By so doing, the Board will have more respect for your recommendations.

· This section is considered the meat and potatoes of your paper; it includes analysis and arguments for both the pros and cons of each populated area using all of the elements listed in the previous section.

· This section will wrap up your recommendation for the populated area for test marketing.

Unit II work will support the above format; therefore, use it to fill in the template above.

Management Organization Required In-Country

Format

For the Board of Directors to make an informed decision, they will need to be convinced that the costs do not exceed potential and expected profits. Use the same format as was used above for your research for Unit III. A recommendation that may help organize your writing is to write your last section first; your conclusion would include what decision is required by the Board of Directors for a successful expansion.

Cultural and Marketing Elements Affecting Test Marketing

Format

For the remaining sections, the format for the first sets should remain the same. This will allow the Board to move through the sections smoothly and be able to absorb and understand your analysis and arguments. Unit IV work will be used for this section.

Test Market Plan Elements

Format

This section starts to combine various elements from your previous units into a cohesive plan. The work for Univ V (in addition to the work completed in previous units) can be used to build your plan. For the second section of the Format recommended in Unit I, there will be no need to repeat all of your research data from the previous sections. The focus should only be on providing your Board of Directors with the big picture of how you see all of the elements working together.

International Transportation Elements

Format

For the test market plan to succeed, transportation elements must be presented to the Board. The assignment in Unit VI provides the basis for this section. The format recommended above for the first section should be used for this section.

In-Country Procedures and Positions

Format

In addition to your Unit VII assignment material, practice writing a strong conclusionary section. This final section would be used to help the Board focus on the benefits of authorizing a test of the corporation’s products in a new market.
