Assignment:

This assignment requires you to work in groups to prepare a crowdfunding campaign of up to 1500 words AND a 3-minute video pitch for an entrepreneurial opportunity. Your essay should be based on the elements of the Business Model Canvas. Each year, we focus on a particular area of importance. This year we are focusing on: Loneliness in elderly populations In your group, you will need to explore a commercial or social enterprise business idea. The business idea your group will be proposing should therefore offer something that helps reduce loneliness experienced by the elderly. This can be about providing activities for older groups to participate in, training or support for carers, an interactive app or website to support online social interaction, etc. You can either look to address current needs in a socially distanced world, or plan for a return to ‘normal’. Make sure you cover all areas in the Grading Criteria below, which you can use as headings. The criteria below are elements of the Business Model Canvas. Opportunity identification and value proposition Customer relationships, segments and channels Key partners, activities and resources Cost structure and revenue streams You MUST also provide a link to your group’s video that can be viewed by the marker. It’s recommended that you upload your video to YouTube as ‘Unlisted’. This means your video cannot be found through a search but can be viewed by those you give the link to. If your video cannot be viewed, a mark of 0% will be awarded for the relevant grading criteria.
