Assignment Instructions

In this assignment, you will be required to discuss an important topic in organizational

behavior, counterproductive work behavior. This exercise will help you practice your

upcoming or present responsibilities to prevent and/or address this type of behavior. This

exercise will also help you better understand content from Chapter 4, Chapter 5, and

performance evaluations. I am a firm believer that students can better identify traits and other

characteristics of other people when they understand their own traits and characteristics. Thus,

this assignment will also reinforce key terminology.

There are four self-assessments you must take to complete the exercise. They are in the folder

labeled Assessments.

1. Personality

2. Emotional Intelligence

3. Affect Intensity

4. Performance Feedback

Another link labeled Counterproductive Work Behaviors provides an article you are to read to

reply to the questions.

 The assignment must be submitted to the writing center prior to submission. The UHV

Writing Center will provide a list of names on your behalf. Non reviewed assignments will

not be graded. The grade will be a zero.

The UHV Writing Center is an excellent student resource. Students appreciated the mandatory

requirement as they could use the resource for all of their course written assignments and most

of the students had no previous knowledge of the service. The writing center is undergoing

some changes to better serve the students. Please adhere to the following requirements.

1) Please do not submit working drafts, only final submissions are to be sent for review.

2) Online students e-mail the submission to [email protected]. “Students cannot make appointments just yet but, if they are in Victoria (or are willing to travel there) and would like to work with someone face-to-face, then they can just walk in.

3) Since the writing center is using a UHV mailbox to handle the review sessions, students are to use their UHV email accounts—this will prevent our mailbox from potentially filtering their e-mails as spam.”

4) Students should include the following information in the email: • Student ID # • Their professor’s name (In my class, “Dr. Olga Chapa”) if you are using the opportunity to submit for another course, use that professor’s name. • The course name/number (Organizational Behavior #26999 MGMT 4320 or #27000 MGMT 4320) • The type of assignment (Reflective Piece/ Essay) • Instructions

 A Turnitin link is available for submission. Turnitin will detect any improper writing,

which unintendedly can be work of others (considered plagiarism). The submission link is

set up so that you can submit your work as many times as you want to address any

unintentional writing problems. Please address any problems prior to submitting the final

draft to the writing center.

 Refrain from the use of quoted material. At this stage of academia, you need to practice

using your own words to interpret what you read.

 Due date is November 17, 2019 (Sunday) Midnight Deadline.

 Given the time allowed to work on this assignment (one week) and the extra time to submit

your work to the writing center, no late assignments will be accepted.
