MAR 4156 International Marketing News Article Analysis Assignment
The assignment is as follows:
o Read the news article options included in the news article folder. o Choose one of the news article options that is of interest to you.
(Or search for a news article that you prefer from a business publication such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes. Send your news article choice to Professor Beristain for approval)
o Prepare a written analysis of this news article using the Individual Worksheet format provided.
o The worksheet is in MS Word. Save it to your desktop and use the worksheet to answer each question using the space required to express your ideas concisely. Do NOT use any other file format, only MS Word.
o Follow the format provided. (question & answer) o When you summarize the main ideas expressed in the article in a short
paragraph in your own words, and you use a direct quote from the article, make sure that you attribute it to the author using quotation marks (for example: The reporter/article described the current situation as “a phenomenal opportunity to develop a new market for US-made goods.”)
o Make sure that you answer all of the questions thoughtfully, and thoroughly taking into considerations all of the sub-points. DO NOT delete the sub-points; answer each one to earn the corresponding points.
The points that you earn will depend on how well you follow the specified format, your written analysis - especially the description of marketing issues/challenges and insights/ recommendations, and application of marketing concepts/ terminology. Make sure that you proof-read your work, check spelling and grammar. Submit your assignment on-line in the Assignment Drop Box by the due date. Points will be deducted for late assignments. Late assignments will only be accepted within 24 hours of the deadline. This assignment is meant to be an enjoyable, valuable learning experience, which will allow you to apply your learning from this course to real-life marketing challenges faced by US companies conducting business internationally.
