This assignment requires you to reflect on the experiential learning that you have been immersed in throughout the unit and write a reflective essay. It’s recommended to focus on a specific events linked to practice-based and experiential learning.

Reflective writing relates to providing the reader with your personal thoughts, belief, values, assumptions and attitudes about an understanding of a topic, a problem, a situation or an experience.

The essay requires you to provide a well-structured argumentation about the benefits of and challenges in experiential and practice-based learning. Ideally you should also highlight skills and knowledge gained as a result of the experience. Familiarise yourself with academic essay writing and ensure to apply a paragraph structure.

Here are some questions that may assist you when reflecting on your experiences, benefits and challenges in practice-based, experiential learning:

· How can practice-based and experiential learning be defined?

· What is the role and the purpose of experiential learning?

· What happened during my placement experience and why?

· How have I felt during the experience and what were my thoughts?

· What were my thoughts during that experience and what could explain why I had these thoughts?

· How do I interpret what I experienced/observed?

· What might this experience (or the undertaking of the unit) mean in the context of my course, my professional and ethical practice and, my career?

· What other perspectives, theories or concepts could be applied to interpret the experience?

· How can I learn from this experience?

· What were the benefits of and challenges in this experience?

The file with the name ‘Experiences’ has some of the things I learned each day. Keep in mind to read and relate them in the essay. To totally understand and know what I learned during the placement please read the example assignment with the name ‘Example Assignment”. The example assignment has everything that I have learned. Most of the major learnings are in the Example assignment. The assignment should be written following the example assignment but keep in mind to not use the same references. And please do not just paraphrase from the example assignment. Everything we learned, the simulation we did, the videos we watched and the activities we did are on the example assignment.
