Barclays Bank

Barclays Bank

It is not clear if the bank is a non-profit organization. I do not believe it is. This is the requirement: Research a nonprofit organization that has faced a public relations crisis within the past few years.

Barclays Bank PLC is a British multinational corporation with a global presence in over [50] countries across Europe, Asia, Middle East Africa, and America. The bank is one of the largest employers in the world since it has a workforce exceeding [130,000] employees. Apart from investment banking, the London headquartered bank is organized into four main businesses (Radda, Uzodinma, Akanno, Isa, Abdulkadir, Abba & Abdulmajid, 2015). They include investment management, personal banking, wealth management, and corporate management. The bank traces its routes to a goldsmith banking business that was established in 1690 in the city of London. Since then, the bank has kept a positive trajectory of expansion and has made numerous acquisitions to be as big as it is. Barclays Bank PLC expanded its business across the world and today, it is one of the largest banks in the world. The company is considered the thirty-fourth largest financial service company across the world with over f[$55 billion] in revenue. This paper provides a comprehensive view of Barclays Bank PLC. <Place your citation here.

Question I Comment by Teresa M. Lao: What is the question? Replace these with appropriate headings to let me know what your topic sentences are.

Barclays Bank has been one of the leading financial institutions across the globe. The bank is ranked as one of the best companies in the world with regards to the work environment. The bank has kept on positioning itself to operate in the global market by ensuring that it comes up with unique marketing strategies that would enable it to be globally competitive. Equally, the company has spent a lot of financial resources on strategizing itself by ensuring that it has the best policies in place (Radda et al., 2015). More importantly, the company has sponsored premier league from 2001 to 2016 and this has enabled to attract as many customers as possible, especially the football lovers. Furthermore, Barclays Bank PLC has been awarded [several times] for being one of the global companies that recognize the importance of workforce diversity.

The company hires its employees from across the world to ensure that it reflects different cultures in its workforce. Equally, the company has diversity programs in a place whose objective is to ensure that all employees are appreciated irrespective of their race, nationality, or sexual orientation. The diversity of the bank’s employees is what has given the company its competitive advantage since their diversity brings a diversity of ideas that facilitate innovation and creativity. The bank trains its employees on the importance of embracing diversity and upholding good morals (Diallo, 2016). This has enabled it to be one of the best banks that provide good customer service. Elsewhere, the company has one of the best codes of ethics that guide all the employees on how to behave and relate with others especially the customers. More importantly, the company attracts the most talented employees from across the world and uses their innovation and creativity to increase its productivity and growth. Barclays Bank remains one of the best places to work because it attracts different talents from across the world and has in place training programs that improve the skills of the employees. An organization that trains its employees with the objective of improving their skills is always the best place to work since everyone admires growth opportunities.

Question II

Barclays Bank has continued to undertake and implement various policies practices that have had and continue to have a significant impact on the outcome of the bank as well as the outcome of its employees (Casu & Gall, 2016). Among the best practices undertaken by the bank include its recruitment and hiring process. The company adopts a strict and transparent process with the objective of ensuring that the persons selected have the best skills that are suited for particular jobs in the organization. The hiring process is structured in a manner that those who are selected go through various stages of elimination to ensure that the organization gets the best talent while preserving diversity. Once the employees are hired, they are taken through rigorous training to ensure that they have the best skills that the bank needs to remain globally competitive.

Barclays Bank PLC ensures that all its employees are motivated. This is achieved through various activities that include awarding employees who attain or exceed their set targets. Furthermore, the bank keeps its workforce motivated by ensuring that there is a conducive working environment that supports the growth and development of every employee. The current employees are given the first priority if promotional opportunities open up. The bank equally gives its employees bonuses to ensure that they remain motivated as they go about their daily duties (Casu & Gall, 2016). Elsewhere, Barclays is recognized as one of the companies that offer the best compensation to their employees and this makes it be one of the most sought after organizations by job seekers. The company offers attractive salaries that even those already employed do not wish to leave. More importantly, the company is known for its corporate social responsibility. The company has invested a lot in community initiatives where it has opened several projects for women living with HIV in Kenya and continues to fund many schools in India and other countries across the world. On the other hand, the company’s non-discrimination policy has ensured that there is a friendly working environment for everyone. The policy further promotes diversity in the organization. A diverse workplace facilitates collaboration and teamwork. <Provide your source.

You did not address this requirement: Explain in detail the facts of the event that generated the negative publicity and why this situation would create negative publicity.

Question III

It is imperative to appreciate the fact that diversity is one of the issues that affect organizational performance in many business entities across the world. Among the practices related to work attitude in the United States that are affected by diversity include employee discrimination, harassment, exclusion based on the race, the nationality of origin, sexual orientation, disability, age, and religion. Many business organizations that operate on a global scale have been accused of engaging in the mentioned practices and this has caused many of them to be poorly rated. In order to address these issues and ensure that their effects are not felt in the organization, it is important that the organization comes up with the most suitable strategies that will ensure that everyone including the employees embraces diversity (Casu & Gall, 2016). One of the best strategies is training employees on the importance of workforce diversity. If employees are taught on the values associated with diversity such as innovation and creativity, every employee will be more than willing to embrace a diverse workforce. Elsewhere, the organization will need to strictly adhere to the provisions of the equal employment opportunity commission to ensure that no employee or job applicant is discriminated against and this will ensure that the organization reflects diversity in its employee recruitment and selection. More importantly, the organization can solve the issues by ensuring that is strictly abiding by the provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as enshrined in the title VII. If this is this is done, there will be no complaints such as racial exclusion in employment, gender-based discrimination or unfair dismissal based on employee's disability. How is this related to your organization? This is the requirement: Comment by Teresa M. Lao: What are examples of these organizations?

Create the specific goals your campaign will try to achieve, and justify why you chose these goals.

In summary, Barclay Bank PLC is a multinational corporation headquartered in London, United Kingdom; the bank is ranked as one of the best financial institutions in the world. The bank has expanded in many countries across the world and has since then embraced diversity to reflect the diverse cultures in which it operates. It remains one of the most sought after multinational organizations due to its diversity, non-discrimination policy n and employee training and development.
