Personal Leadership Vision Statement

Purpose:
This assignment provides an application-based assessment of fundamental material concerning the
need for vision in an organization and methods for creating a vision. This is a self-reflective personal
project examining your personal leadership vision. The object of this assignment is for you to focus your
attention on what matters most; what you want to accomplish in your life and what kind of leader you
wish to be. Balance, structure and motivation are essential elements to an empowered leader.
Assignment Details:
This paper should be an analysis of your personal leadership vision and encapsulate everything you
would like to be, do, and have in your career. It will provide and define what success and excellence look
like to you, as well as express where you want to be in the future and reflect your values, goals, and
purpose and how you want to operate.
Report Structure:
This paper will be no more than five pages, not including cover page and references and include:
• Title page – includes your name, Student ID Number, date, course & instructor’s name
• Introduction - brief background about the report that follows; key points; two paragraphs.
• Vision statement – provide your vision statement in a paragraph that encapsulates everything you would like to be, do, and have in your career.
• Personal Vision – provide a well-defined personal vision that is in alignment with your personal values
• Professional Vision – provide your professional vision that is in alignment with the values that you would possess as a leader for a company that you are running
• Leadership Vision – provide your leadership vision which is composed of a well-defined personal vision and a powerful professional vision
• Conclusion – provide a brief summary of your main conclusions (max two paragraphs)
In order to receive a first class grade, student(s) must submit a report that uses and applies learned
course theory, concepts, etc., is well organized, well written, accurate, and complete in its analysis.
Clarity and conciseness are important. First class reports will contain no grammatical errors, no spelling
errors, and no uncorrected typing errors.

Expected Compliance Requirements
• This report should comply with the formal report requirements (i.e. title page, introduction, headings, correct grammatically, no plagiarism, citations using IEEE format)
• The report should be written in a professional manner without excessive abbreviations or unexplained jargon. Point form may be used.
• It is expected that you will cite both ideas and direct quotes you have obtained from other sources. Failure to do so will be considered to be plagiarism.
• Turnitin is a requirement, and declining to use Turnitin could result in a zero grade. Submit to Turnitin at least three days before your report is due to avoid any problems.
