Centralization/Decentralization

Study the organizational structure of an organization that you are familiar with. It could

be the organization you work for, or one that you know well. Based on your study:

1. Draw the organization structure, starting with the top executive (CEO). You do not need to go more than 2 levels down the hierarchy from the top.

2. Choose a unit of the organization that you are familiar with and comment on the following.

a. Degree of specialization in this unit

b. Extent of centralization/decentralization

c. Degree of formalization

d. Span of control of your immediate supervisor

3. The Unit will be Grace Unlimited Church

4. Organizational structure is as follow:

Senior Pastor (CEO)

Executive Pastor

CFO

Associate Pastors

We will take about the finance Office

Specialization required a degree in finance or accounting

Certificate from Senior Pastor certifying in as pastor through courses and classes in Theology and heart for leading people to Jesus Christ.

5. Span of Control of my immediate supervisors I fall under the Executive pastor as one the associate pastors. He has some power over finance department as he has signing and approving power dealing with certain financial transactions. But CEO has most power. Even though there is supposed be a Board of Trustees that approves all financial transactions.
