Historical actions that women took in the past leading to current women equality status that women enjoys provides insights and lessons that can help in handling similar scenarios currently or in the future.

Women Rights Movement created a Legacy for Women's Empowerment
For a long Period, women had been oppressed by men. Gender inequality was more prevalent and men created systems that acted in their favor and oppressed women. A woman's place was to be in the kitchen and take care of the kids and husband.

Women's Suffrage Movement Was the Turning Point for Gender Equality
The women’s suffrage movement paid a critical role in the fight for gender equality by women. Women not only were they granted the right to vote, but the 19th Amendment opened many doors for women towards equality (Susan, 1873). For example, women were able to vie for elective political positions. A large number of women was able to join schools to acquire education. The equality that women enjoy traces its roots from the women’s suffrage movement (Linda Simon, 2017).

Contemporary Feminism Acts for Gender Equality is grounded on the Past Women Movements
The world has never attained a 50-50 gender equality. Women are still discriminated in most aspects. Feminist activists are still present to fight to equality. Their motivation is grounded on the fact that past women movements were able to achieve significant results in regards to gender equality. Women are aware that some of modem systems are dominated by men. However, their activism has achieved significant results so far as the number of women holding elective seats has increased significantly over time (Susan, 1873).

The Future of Women Rights
Women rights are still under attack in many countries across the globe. However, feminism movements have learned a lot from the recent successes. Women are on alert and continue to mobilize to prevent threatened rollbacks. Women continue to fight for equal rights and much success has been achieved so far. It is projected that in the near future women will enjoy equal rights as men. The discrimination against women on social, economic and political aspects of life propelled women to fight for equality (Chisholm, 1969).

The lessons learned from the past gendered movements help inform the progress made on gender issues in the global context, specifically in terms of how far gender equality has been achieved, or not, in the past decade.
The lessons inform how nations can tackle one of the most pressing social, economic, and political issues of our times and effectively address them in the future.
The lessons learned informs the effects of political, economic and social shifts one women’s lives in both global and everyday contexts.
In the modern perceived era of gender equality, there is a new articulation of male social power and privilege.
