Human Growth and Development Discussions
Assignment 3 - "Healthy Menu" - is set up for peer reviews. You have to complete TWO reviews for this assignment.
As always, you will have to use the Rubric tool - enter points and write thoughtful comments for the categories (when appropriate). Leave the last category (about peer reviews) blank. Then you will need to write meaningful feedback in the Comments box.
In your peer reviews, make sure to CHECK the NUMBERS for fiber, cholesterol, and calories. Use the author's resources - if they are provided and if they make sense. If not, use your own sources and provide a reference for them. You will get full credit for peer reviews ONLY IF you provide thorough evaluations. Your comments should demonstrate that you have read the submissions AND did the checking.
The reviewing process is slightly different this time. In addition to a general assessment, you need to check numbers on the menu. Use the author's sources to find amounts of fiber, cholesterol, and calories. If the author did not provide sources (which means a deduction itself), use your own sources - and tell what they are. If the author used the information from the labels, look up the labels on the web. Make sure the numbers make sense. For example, if there is whole milk on the menu and no notion of cholesterol in it - be sure to point it out.
When writing your peer review, state that you checked the numbers for such and such items using such and such resources, and they are correct (or some are not). You will get full credit for the reviews ONLY IF you check the numbers.
As always, the review has two parts: 1) points and specific comments in the rubric, and 2) general feedback in the 'Comments' box. Make sure to complete both.
