In this assignment, you'll learn about your and at least one of your classmates
character strengths.
Instructions: Remove Instructions before Submission Step 1: Go to the UPENN Authentic Happiness Center https://www.authentichappiness.sas.upenn.edu/testcenter
Please click the “Take Test” button next to the “VIA Survey of Character Strengths” as shown in the screenshot below:
Once you click it, it will ask you to sign in. In this step, you have to create an account for yourself as shown screenshot below:
Step 2: After you register and login in with your credentials, you will be able to take the survey. It is a long survey and takes approximately 30 minutes. After you finish the survey, you will
see your top strengths on the screen as shown below (There are 24 but you will see the first
5, if you want to see all of them, you need to click the “More…” link under the strength 5).

Step 3: In this step, you are going to interview with another class member via Zoom/Skype/Whatsapp or face-to-face. During these interviews, the goal will be to understand
what is “best” about the other student. You are going to ask following questions during the
interview:
a. When you look at the first five character strengths, what do you think of yourself?
b. Which character strength defines you better on this list? (After your class member
explains his/her strength, please ask him/her why)
c. How do your character strengths affect your perspective on life?
Step 4: Then write a reflection paragraph by answering the questions below with reference to the interview and your class member’s character strengths report.
NOTE: Please do not forget to attach your class member’s (the person you interviewed) character strengths report (screen shot or saved file) when you submit your assignment.
