Assignment 3
Discussion 1
New advances in technology - such as telemedicine, remote radiological viewing, and the use of electronic records management - have opened the door for improvements in program implementation, evaluation, quality assurance initiatives and access to medical information. As the U.S. continues to make advances that allow patients to access medical information and medical providers over the Internet, programs that protect patient privacy while maintaining safeguards are vital.
Please describe how you would answer a consumer’s question: “How can I be assured that the information on this site is accurate and from a physician?”
Cite your source(s) and respond to the response below.
Telemedicine is an electronic exchange of medical information. The information on a telehealth site is accurate and from a physician because most telehealth apps and sites are integrated into your primary health care facility. Therefore, you will most likely be talking to and getting information from your primary physician (Wu, 2016).
To ensure that your medical information is safe, there is the use of two factor authentication. The site’s data, including Patient Medical Information, has been encrypted.

Discussion 2
What is business writing? How do you make constructive recommendations that will be accepted and not shunned by the organization’s leadership?
Cite your source(s) and respond to the response below.
Business writing is just another term we use in the corporate setting when we refer to communicating and sharing information. Business writing can be found in any form of communication that requires writing a message. This can be an email, a letter, or a formal business report.
In Jack Appleman’s book, 10 Steps to Successful Business Writing, he explains that “your documents, emails, and instant messages become your personal brand.” This brand is what other form their impression about you based on your “written words.” These written words can “convey enthusiasm, intelligence, and empathy, and inspire others to action.”
Some suggestions I found in Appleman’s book that would be very helpful when sharing recommendations to Enterprise’s leadership team would be to be “concise, explicit, and clear.” It is so important to avoid being wordy, and avoid trying to impress your audience with big technical words or vocabulary. Instead, Appleman suggests we “get to the point immediately with clarity and precision.” Another recommendation from Appleman is to be persuasive. It is important to inform the leaderships team of their WIIFM (what’s in it for me?) By using action verbs and compelling language, we can spark excitement and grab the attention of our audience.
With the application of the two above recommendations, being clear/concise and being persuasive, I do feel this will help increase the likelihood of the leadership accepting my recommendations.
