ASSIGNMENT 1---due Tuesday at 10:00am

·  You will need to observe people interacting socially in their natural environment (e.g., youngsters on the playground or at lunch, adults shopping or at work, etc.).

· You must keep notes on the number of social exchanges and the types of behavior used in each social exchange (e.g., touch, facial expression, verbal communication, etc.).

· you will share your specific observations with your classmates and discuss how these observations may be different if the individual had ASD.

Note: The observation must be a social environment rather than a structured setting such as a classroom, special class (art, music, p.e., etc.), or assembly. You may observe spectators at events but not individuals who are being taught, coached, or participating in a game such as, but not limited to: music lessons, swimming, gymnastics, Little League, etc.

The thread should be 420– words and 3–5 paragraphs in length. THE thread should be supported with at least 2 sources in APA format.
