Critical Thinking - 2nd Assignment
Exercise
This is an exercise that challenges your mental and verbal awareness. The task seems simple, it is not! You have to describe a photograph by making a list of at least ten statements (you can use more) about it. Arrange your list in a logical order. You are writing for someone that is not able to see the photograph – someone blind – Be specific and detailed, even about the picture’s most obvious aspects. Be careful not to jump into conclusions, stay with your evidence. Take your time observing the photo before jumping into your factual description .
a) Describe in a page what is Critical Reading, what are its key elements according to Marlys Mayfield textbook?
* Hints: Try to build your argumentation within three to five premises and a conclusion before putting your whole description down. It will help you to structure your writing. Choose your key words wisely, use specific meanings, avoid euphemisms, avoid vague words and subjective meanings (Chapters 2 and 3 from the textbook will help you).
