Oxford Art Online Article Assignment
After you have decided on the work of art in which you’re going to write about you will need to learn more about the artist. To complete this assignment, you will use the Oxford Art Online database to locate the biography of your artist in the Grove Encyclopedia.
Step 1)
· Go to the Oxford Art Online Database [http://libguides.dcccd.edu/go.php?c=7269858] You will be prompted to log in with your DCCCD student ID.
· Click on the first link “DCCCD Student Login”
Step 2)
· Search for your artist in the upper right-hand corner. In this example, let’s search Pablo Picasso.
· Select the article you want to see, and click on the artist name.
· Select the url for the article to submit in eCampus.
Step 3)
Copy and paste the DOI article link into the submission box for the assignment into eCampus and submit. For example, the article for Pablo Picasso appears as:

What is a DOI anyway? A DOI, or Digital Object Identifier, is a string of numbers, letters and symbols used to permanently identify an article or document and link to it on the web. A DOI will help your reader easily locate a document from your citation.
Step 4)
· Read the biographical information about your artist, style, time period. You may want to include any relevant information discovered in your museum paper that you submit at the end of the semester. Note, that some of the articles are very long, look for the summary at the top of the article for the most important information.
· In the event you cannot locate your artist, submit the words “artist not found” in the submission box.
· Click on the button “Write Submission” under the heading Text Submission to paste your link.
