Cloud Services; Data Analytics in My Company.

Introduction

In mMy firm, I will use a variety of services from our cloud service provider (CSP) including Software as a Services (SaaS), PaaS, DaaS, IaaS, and RaaS in the operations involving the firm. These cloud services will help the management in the coordination of physical tasks with involving the information from multiple data stores for efficient processes and output of the company. Data of different volumes, urgency, and form regarding different variables will be required at different times for use in the firm. Data on the firm’s output, sales, employees, competitor firms, production capacity, market trend, and clientele profiles will be required for decision making within the company. Different cloud services will serve the appropriate purposes to ensure the availability of the necessary information at the time it is required. The use of the above cloud services will supplement the firm’s data warehouse and see the company operate effectively and efficiently. I will make use of them because they have several advantages over the ordinary methods of data analytics. Platform as a Service (PaaS)

The industry is silently but rapidly adopting the use of PaaS in their its operations. My firm will not be left behind by this digital trend. I will have an arrangement with a vendor who will deploy this service to my company. The service will allow upgrades of manufacturing add-ons even before the vendor releases the data changes. It allows no time lag between the changes and the upgrade on the company's end system and this will allow the normal operations within the firm to go on with minimal disturbances and alterations. Time will also be saved since the communication between the vendor system and the company's system is immediate. Secondly, data recovery and backups will be achievable with the service and with PaaS my firm will be able to run different applications in on their systems with maximum interoperability to access, assess and analyze data on the company’s production capacity over different periods, changes in the sales volumes, client profile and data on customer needs and competitor environment. I will use PaaS for team collaboration, database integration, scalability, and reliable storage. Among other merits, this service will enhance performance capability in terms of data processing and analysis and the end result will be an increment in net benefits by the firm. Comment by Mark O'Connell: OK I’m totally confused. What data will you analyze? What analytics are you targeting? What predictions? For whom? Not for your own company I hope. How does it get into your database? Where is your database? If you are using PaaS it usually means you are supplying YOUR OWN application to put on top of that operating system.

Desktop as a Service (DTaaS)

Following the increasing competition in the industry, firms have faced the challenge of huge budgets, insecurity of data and difficulties in supplying the necessary information to the required users and platforms effectively. Firms in the industry have also to overcome the problem of remote access computing which has seen their competitive capacities dwindle with the changing technology. Varghese & Buyya (2018). My firm will adopt a DTaaS so that its systems are upgraded from a physical a virtual desktop where the applications in the firm's systems and the infrastructure will be managed over the cloud. With virtual desktop infrastructure, the load caused by the traditional networks and local storages will be reduced drastically. In addition, the security of data and company information will be assured. I will adopt the use of DTaaS to prevent possible data breaches so that no information will be leaked from the company if not meant for the public domain. My company will utilize the service to enhance integrity so as to compete favorably in the market. Additionally, the costs that come with hiring data managers, maintenance of data warehouse and system upgrades will be reduced. By using DTaaS, information and data concerning profits, sales volumes, company partnership, and clientele base will be more secure and we will focus on the network connection between our offices and our CSP. This will enable analytics on different firm variables at any time as the need arises and without fear of loss of the information. The daily operations in the company will then be in progress all the time and this way delays and other obstacles to production will be avoided. This leaves the firm at a better position to produce maximum output at the lowest cost possible and hence remain competitive enough in the market. Comment by Mark O'Connell: Too bold a claim. There’s almost always risk. And if you’re using DTaaS it means you do NOT have data on your portable PCs, or you have no PCs at all and just use appliances. So if you have no PC to take on the road with you it means you’re using your PC from a hotel room to access your DTaaS when you’re on the road. Exposes you to that vulnerability. Is ok – lots of people do this DTaaS. But your paper needs to acknowledge the risks and not claim there will be no security risks. Comment by Mark O'Connell: What is maximum output!!!!

Software as a service (SaaS)

In the industry, there has lately been an increase in the competition in the data analystics business market as said before and therefore, firms that want to remain competitive enough and maintain or increase their market share have to move faster in terms of production, sales, information relay, and other processes. To enable my firm to attain this, I will adopt cloud computing from a SaaS business model approach. This will enable the firm to operate under the increasing pressure within the industry and from the market, drive prices down and remain competitive. Chang, Wong et al (2019). I will use this model to maximize customer retention through careful analysis of client needs. Any changes in their tastes and preferences will be informed through the data analytics from this service and the necessary changes will be made. In addition, I will use the service to bring on board new clients and maintain good relationships with the suppliers, retailers, and distributors. This will boost company performance by increasing output, client base, and sales volume. Comment by Mark O'Connell: ok

Use of SaaS applications will be good for the company because these are controllable, get rapid and frequent upgrades will be done as the need arises depending on the company timelines, and hence process and other company operations will not be interrupted. Several changes and adjustments occur within the firm in the process of production, packaging, and distribution. In line with this, sometimes there might be an influx of data and changes in technology. Systems will, therefore, require updates frequently and sometimes rapidly. Loukis, Janssen et al (2019). SaaS will serve this purpose. I will also use the CSP service in the company systems to enable global operations. Through SaaS, the company will be in a position to connect with the external world and establish trade with multinational corporations and other international companies. Recovery as a Service (RaaS)

Very often Most are times when firms experience failures in data systems. in a firm fail. This leads to loss of data and a lot of important information by the company, as well as loss of time, progress, money and general delays in recovery. If such data and information are not recovered, the company will most probably experience serious delays in its operations and a possible crisis. My firm will use RaaS service to overcome this situation. For effective running of the company, the customers, suppliers, and distributors will need uninterrupted services to be resumed within the shortest time possible, failure to which loss of customers to competitors will be a possible result and that is bad for business. Without information and data on inputs such as raw materials, labor, costs, sales and revenue it becomes hard for any production to run within the company. This means that if by any chance the systems fail and data is lost, the company will need urgent intercession of RaaS service to save the situation, otherwise, the company will be at a halt. With recovery services, all the data and information will be recovered and the normal operations of the firm will resume. Therefore, this is will be a very significant cloud computing service to the company as it will ensure that any lost data and information will be recovered from the cloud. This is good for any company that wants to avoid interruptions and loss of customers, sales and output in general. Comment by Mark O'Connell: OK I’m going to stop reading at this point. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

My company will use this service to monitor progress and changes within the production and operational performance, to construct and manage detailed billing for clients. It will also be used for security of data and company information since it offers an interface for recovery and backup. The firm’s important and crucial information and data files will be backed up through this service for retrieval just in case of system failure and possible loss of data from the company systems. Also if there is a need for creating virtual machines and storage buckets for different workloads in the company, then this service will save the situation. In addition, I will use the service to track and monitor costs and performance within the company and this will make it possible for necessary changes as situations might dictate.

Conclusion

Most of these cloud services chosen for the company offer security for data and information in one way or another, which will be good for the company. For instance, information concerning performance in terms of sales, output at different periods, distribution and revenue will be very important to the management, and these services will provide that. There will also be a reduction in the overall cost of the firm, thus higher profits will be realized out of such approaches.
