Network delivery for storage services in important part of modern storage access and delivery techniques. There are protocols used to deliver data to multiple clients simultaneously. Long haul network communications require network and data storage engineers to collaborate on providing high speed networks.
Background
Sharing storage is important for users, applications and a network makes this possible. Internet Protocol is the base layer at which data is delivered. Protocols that ride this layer include:
1. iSCSI - Block Storage
2. FCoE - Block Storage
3. NVMe oF - Block Storage (alternative/new topic - not required, but see live session near the end for details)
4. NFS - File Storage
5. SMB/CIFS - File Storage (Windows to Windows)
6. SAMBA - File Storage (Linux to Windows)
You have a new job as a Network Storage Administrator and will be training the level 1 help desk on how storage is presented to the end users on the system. For this assignment, Create 2 page paper in APA format or a 10-12 slide PowerPoint Presentation that defines and describes the network file systems and access methods discussed above.
