Unit-1: Fundamentals of leadership
Tony robbins have unique and very effective take on a leadership as follows
LEADERSHIP QUALITY #1 – Decisiveness:
Decision making is the force that shapes destiny. Your power as a leader comes from your ability to be decisive – and having the guts to make tough decisions. While many people waste precious time over making the ‘right’ decision, as a leader you must be willing to draw a line in the sand and make decisions no one else is willing to make. When you do, you can positively shape your life and lives of people around you. Learn leadership from the best – a four-star general with two purple hearts – General “Stormin” Norman Schwartzkopf.
LEADERSHIP QUALITY #2 – Resourcefulness:
When people fail to achieve, they often say they are missing resources like time, money, people and so on. Yet, the top leaders in the world know resources are never the problem; the real problem is a lack of resourcefulness. You can always get the resources you need as a leader if you’re resourceful enough – and the truth is this: The ultimate resource is resourcefulness.
LEADERSHIP QUALITY #3 – They Serve a Higher Purpose than themselves:
The greatest leaders in history are purpose-driven; they serve something more than themselves. Motive does matter. If your motive as a leader is to simply get someone to do something for you, you may be able to strategize a way to do it – but it’s when you serve a greater good that you create a legacy of leadership that lasts beyond your lifetime.
LEADERSHIP QUALITY #4 – Influence:
Leaders are masters of influence; they know how to propel themselves and others to move forward in life. In order to influence people, they know what already influences them. They know who they are, what their ‘brand’ is, and who they are to others. As a result, they influence others to set a new standard for themselves that those people live by when they aren’t there. When you master the skill of influence as a leader, you control the ultimate force for giving, creating, sharing and contributing more.

Tony Robbins has communication style as below
Step 1: Build Identification And Rapport
Building report is a very crucial aspect of communication, It means that we have something in common or both persons have same understanding. When you build a report with someone he/she considers you as a one of their own
Step 2: Logic & Reason
This menace that people do not always make decision rationally, there is mostly emotional aspect attached to any of the decision – helping people come up with logical reasoning for the decision will improve your credibility and trust worthiness drastically
Step 3: Attack & Confess
It is best to anticipate possible objection or pushback of your opinion, Having high level strategy to respond to objection is very smart and can lead to very impressive communication style – it also best to have some spontaneity while responding to audience, pre-determined response can be deal breaker also
Also by confessing and then providing solution is least offensive way to communicate the sort comings, By confessing the audience’s self-worth is not diminishes
For example – I usually communicate – I had the same bad habit or I used to think like that but then I realized the better way to achieve similar outcome.
Tony Robbins identifies following leadership styles
Democratic leadership
A democratic leader is one who places high value on the diverse skills, qualities and knowledge base of a team. He or she will work to cultivate consensus within the group by consistently asking, “What do you think?” Doing so will tap into the collective wisdom the group has to offer in order to discover the next best steps.
Visionary Leadership Style
Visionary leaders are strongest when it comes to finding new directions and new potential solutions to a given problem. This type of leader is awesome at abstract thinking and can envision possibilities that many others aren’t yet able to see. They’re “big picture” thinkers who can see future potential and articulate it to the group. They tend to be passionate and open-minded and are most effective at inspiring forward momentum.
Coaching leadership style
A coaching leader is one who spends a great deal of time and energy on the individuals in a given group. He or she will work on cultivating deep connections that allow for a more thorough understanding of an individual’s hopes, beliefs, dreams and values. They will direct and guide others based on what influences their deepest desires, and deliberately work to cultivate a positive environment where encouragement and communication can flow freely.
Unit -5 : Organizational culture and climate
Tony Robbins gives much importance to company’s overall culture and values. It’s the businesses that chase a vision that will truly change the world – and the market. But the vision must start internally. From the company’s employees to the company’s core values, every aspect of the business must embody your mission if you want to thrive.
When companies leadership transform core values and mission in to company’s culture, It become more focused and employees would have much needed clarity and direction
This is why establishing a powerful company culture has transitioned from something that is “nice-to-have” to something that is a “must-have.”
Unit-6 Developing high performing teams
Tony Robbins manages more than 6 companies actively for years, He has a unique and very practical take on high performing teams as follows
As per tony Robbins, Often someone’s resume and background tells us that they will be ideal for a job, and then disaster strikes. How can we improve our hiring processes? Whenever I’m interviewing people I look to answer three questions:
Can they do the job? If they truly have the skill sets and the ability, that can be figured out pretty rapidly.
Will they do the job well long-term? Answering this question is a little more complex. You have to be able to understand what the person’s goals are, and also understand their true nature and whether the job feeds that nature.
Are they the right team fit? Understanding the applicant’s real needs, desires and goals is critical. Similarly, you’ve got to know the person’s nature. Can an introverted person become an effective salesperson? Of course, but will they sell effectively long-term? The answer is no. Why? People’s nature rarely changes. When you can find a job where a person’s nature is rewarded by the job itself, their goals are aligned, and they have the skills, you have a winner as long as they can pass the final question: Are they the right team fit?
