Company Information

The company I chose for my internship program is Sinotrans company which was incorporated in November 2002. The company deals with the second-tier subsidiary and single logistic platform services. Majorly, the company offers road and rail services, international express, air and ocean freight, terminal services, and warehousing and distribution services. The company's vision statement is to become a world-class intelligent logistic platform enterprise. The mission statement is to transport everything, connect the world, and create ecology, promoting the industry's progress with logistics success. The vision and mission of the ompany is something that every job seeker is willing to be part in ensuring success and growth of career. I choose the company because the services they offer align with my educational expertise, especially in the field of business supply logistics, agency, and e-business.

Internship Description

In the company, my internship position is an oversea marketing consultant. The oversea marketing consultant has different roles and responsibilities in the organization. The role in this position is strategic market research which includes; systematically conducting various information such as competitor trends, customer experience, existing sales performance, and industrial development trends. This information helps the company forecast its future needs and projection of its resource needs and future revenues. Additionally, as a marketing consultant, it is my role to analyze the company's markets share, analyzes the media input effect and the company brand image, and critically analyze the input-output ratio of each of the company's channel. The most appealing part of my role is analyzing and judging the market trends and patterns and formulating the regional and e-commerce expansion plans. As a marketing consultant, I am on the strategy committee, where I report directly to my company supervisor, a member of the board of directors, and the supervisory committee. I have responsibilities within the organization, including compiling the customer's claims and expectations and then taking them to my supervisor. Additionally, I analyze the competitor's trends, sales performance, and industrial development resource needs weekly. Together with my subordinates, we do the mid-monthly analyzes of and judgment of the oversea market trends and provide insights on the e-commerce expansion plans for the company.

Overview of the Internship Experience

During my internship experience with Sinotrans limited, I have developed confidence in analyzing, communicating, and reporting strategies. Despite these significant steps, in my position as an oversea marketing consultant, I have faced a contemporary issue of the coronavirus pandemic, which is still affecting the considerable sections of the company. According to Sinotrans.com (2022), the company fighting against the pandemic is still persistent, and recently the pandemic situation has been still critical for the company's success. The pandemic has made my role difficult because most consumer experiences and feedback show that they are dissatisfied with the situation. The general impact of this issue is that it has led to the close-off status of some companies' critical markets and has seriously led to the decline in road transportation. With the complex epidemic prevention and control situation, it has become difficult to make projections on the competitor's trends, customers experience, and analysis of the company's total potential market share. In enhancing the supply chain's connection and stability of the manufacturing enterprises, the company has coordinated technological strengths and internal scientific and offline network resources and launched the autopilot logistics with the Cyantron Logistics Technology limited.

Currently, the company is winning the battle against epidemic prevention and control (Sinotrans.com, 2022). The end-to-end autopilot distribution in the fast space has helped improve the complex weather and has effectively improved the supporting capacity during the pandemic. Through the partnership, the company has aided in reducing the gathering and flow of people and has helped cut down the further spread of the pandemic. Such methods helped in the transportation to the lock downed areas, thus making it easy to analyze the competitor's trends, customer experience, and resource analysis effectively. Therefore, addressing such an issue will make my work as a oversea marketing consultant easier because I will not be tying my reasons to the effects of the pandemic.

Ongoing Consideration

I have many valuable experiences in different fields, but I still need to develop my analyses and reporting styles. I have been working for Sinotrans for a many years which makes me a suitable candidate in the field. In conclusion, my ongoing experience with Sinotrans Limited is crucial to my development as a future marketing consultant. Therefore, trust my candidature I will ensure that I apply the lessons and skills gained to my next position.
