1. Discuss what you see as the personal and ethical implications for your privacy of the proposed Government’s Smart Sensor Network by looking at:

a. The types or categories of people affected by this proposal,

b. What behavioural changes you might expect to see from normal citizens,

c. Would you expect to see changes in individual behaviours, such as choice of activities, changes in time schedules, etc.

The design of the internet, however bearing a specialized answer for the aversion, monitoring and enforcement of digital/cyber crime , is every now and again bypassed. Framework based strategies for payment of creative materials, which was planned as the answer for robbery, were immediately evaded by the rise of distributed file sharing services(Osada, J., 2011). With "the scope and inescapability of digital technologies up new areas of social weakness" , design bears less demanding intrusion of security(Ang, P. H.,2007).. Another case is spam mail, regularly thought to be a type of harrassing, and an inexorably load for the Internet Service Providers (ISPs). In spite of the fact that there are reconnaissance and requirement techniques for ISPs to cling to, the dominant part don't have that ability(National Crime Prevention Council, 2012). The reasonableness of and access to innovation have likewise been brutally scrutinized for powering the blast of the tyke explicit entertainment industry, by giving namelessness and permitting "for the extent of accumulations to develop a steady interest for new and novel materials" . Malware "has advanced to adjust to countermeasures, for example, programming programs intended to counteract and identify interruptions" (Heg Jhee Jiow 2013). technology is the " predominant regulatory institution for cyber space " , some have contended, that the internet's design made the potential for more criminal exercises to happen, by managing obscurity to the culprit and by the range and effect of such exercises(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005). The pervasiveness of hacking and virus assaults all around features this inborn impartiality managed by the design of technology(Ang, P. H.,2007).

The main category would be the normal people, in the case of the cyber crime such as the observation of the regular activity i.e., the places an individual visit in regular, people he/she meet in frequent, capturing his data over his mobile, tablet and electronic gadgets of an individual by a stranger by hacking the cameras over the streets, which in turn lead to snatching his personal information such as his financial data or his business information, black mailing or even may cause a life threat(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013).

The genuine catgory people would be badly affected by these events, They feel jepordized. As these people may be a victim of the personal data breaches. I feel like the people now a days are very much prone to these cyber crimes ar there are very intellectual personell who are capable of hacking the 64 bit encrypted websites as well. So hacking a public cc tv footages will give access to 24 hour visullance which can cause a severe privacy breach(Osada, J., 2011).

The next would be the people who meet in groups for the personal or professional discussions in public may be monitored by some strangers which may lead to stealing of information through cyber crime(National Crime Prevention Council, 2012).

One of the catogory would be the people who are in relationship or in private, due to these their every activity and their every moment will be monitored and recorded which take them into the trouble(National Crime Prevention Council, 2012). As those cameras are public cameras they can be hacked and accessed any one and steal their data(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013).

If these cameras are monitored by the secured government officials of australia then the most affected people would the one who commits the crime in public so that he can be caught easily with entire visual evidence. Which in turn reduces the crime rate of the country(Osada, J., 2011).

Due to these installations of cameras over the streets near the garbage bins, street lights, traffic lights and bus stops the most highly affected people would be the normal citizens because they pretend to be normal but they aren’t normal infront of cameras they find it very uncomfortable infront of them. They hide their mobiles and their documents if any in order to avoid any third party to steal any kind of information about them(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005).

If the information of an individual normal citizen has been traced by a unknown third party through cyber crime then that individual is in a big trouble( such as financially black mailed, depressed, stressed etc.,)

The main changes in the behavior of an individual would be in the individual who has an intention to commit the crime. in general, they don’t plan any kind of criminal events or activities(Osada, J., 2011). They may try to sneak behind the cameras or in the places where there are no cameras installed while comitting a crime(National Crime Prevention Council, 2012). If this isn’t the case then we could see a drastic drop down of crime rate in the country. We can observe a dramatic change in the behaviour of the normal citizens as well(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013).

By these installations over the streets in australia we could expect a drastic change of behaviour in the citizens and even their lifestyle. The public would be in more consious and descent in their activities(Ang, P. H.,2007).. When we compare the developed and developing countries, in the developed countries the people are very particular in following the laws enforced by the government like obeying the traffic rules, avoiding littering the public places, not harrassing an individual, low public crime rate etc., where as in the developing countries, people face severe traffic issues and they litter in public, through rubbish in the public places, the government struggle to keep the crime rate low. The installation of smart sensor will reduce the rate of accidents per annum(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005).

2. Discuss what you see as the personal and ethical implications for your privacy of the proposed Government’s Smart WiFi Network by looking at:

a. The types or categories of people affected by this proposal,

b. What behavioural changes you might expect to see from normal citizens using their mobile devices in the CBD,

c. Would you expect to see changes in individual behaviours, such as choice of activities, changes in time schedules, etc.

d. What are the implications for you If you had sensitive information on your mobile device that you did not want to share?

The usage and need of internet has been more proliferated and effected the lives of many people in now an days. The usage of internet connected wireless and location based devices took more importance in our daily life(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013). With this increased usage of internet and penetration there could be an increase in the cyber crime, as the internet is becoming a domain for harmful activities and criminal behaviours(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005).

The proposal of smart wifi network by the government would effect every individual in a different way. Some would get affected and some would be benefited and some would be affected(Ang, P. H.,2007). From a kindergarten children to a retired employee, from a poor person to a rich business man every one will be influenced with these smart wifi networks(Osada, J., 2011).

Consider the case of poor people, they will be in a situation where they could not afford for a wifi, With this proposal from the government they get the access to use the internet through wifi, with which they can electronically get connected to the world. they get to know whats happening around them, They tend to educate their child which results in the increase of literacy rate of the country(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005).

Now consider the case of teenagers, this category are the one who can mis use the things very precisely(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013). If These set of people got a smart wifi access with no restrictions then they tend to visit some adult site with which they get mentally influenced(Osada, J., 2011). They start harrasisng people in their im mature state of being. With these things they get to loose their control over their state of being. They slowly start to hack the things like hacking from school website which inturn lead to hack a military base. This is the situation which we could see in our daily routine life(Osada, J., 2011). In order to take the control over these kind of circumstances the government should take an initiative to restrict those adult web sites over a public access network by using the high authenticative protocols by generating an error while accessing a restricted website(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005).

Now in the case of a normal citizen, they are the one who get affected and benefited. When they get connected to the smart wifi network over their devices. There is a high possiblity that their information can be accessed by a third party and can be stealed like their bank passwords, credit card informations, their identities, their conversations, their business information etc., this can be done if the proposed smart wifi network is kept public with out any privacy and security authentication provided to it(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013). So in order to avoid these kind of security and privacy breaches the government should propose this network with an authenticated protocol such that these networks can only be connected by using their personal digital identity such that no one can sneak into their device through this network(Ang, P. H.,2007). And the way they get benefited is, this increase their ease of lifestyle, accessing the things like locations, websites etc., consider a case like if an individual is in an unanonymous area and he lost the signals and then this smart wifi would help to trace his location and go back to the desired location(National Crime Prevention Council, 2012).

In order to avoid the effects that are faced by the normal citizens, the government should react and enforce international laws by using the tecnological means and market forces to regulate the internet usage in terms of cyber crimes and harmful activities(Osada, J., 2011).

3. If you were visiting the State Capital after the Smart State Plan has rolled out, do you think that the use of a digital identity would assist you to maintain your privacy while using your mobile phone or devices during your visit? Discuss the reasons for your answer.

Yes, the use of digital identity would assist to matain the privacy and security while using the mobile phones or tablets but not 100 percent. This digital identity ensure the recognition of an individual in person and online(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005). But still these digital identities can be copied based on the type of identity. For example, if the digital identity is a fingerprint, then in that case inconsiderate to the current on going technologies any fingerprint can be copied and used to sneak in to others devices to steal their data which is a security breach(Heg Jhee Jiow, 2013). If the digital identity is a facial expression, then in that case his/her devices can be stolen and can be unlocked when he or she are in an unconcious state and then they can access the data or their personal information over their devices which is also an security and privacy breach.but in case of facial expression as their digital identity the chance of security and privacy breach is low however there is a possibility(Osada, J., 2011).

In the case of usage of digital identity for recognition in personal and online. The identity of that individual should be recorded and stored in some servers(Osada, J., 2011). If the servers are not hack proof then in that case an individuals identity can be stolen by a third party organisation or person and can be used for his own benefits such as terrorist activities, creating a fake id proofs, dealing some issues with the stolen identity.which is one of the biggest criminal activity(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005). In order to avoid this type of criminal activity to take place the servers in which an individuals digital identity is stored should be made hack proof and secured with the latest emerging encrypting authenticative algorithms.

4. What steps do you think that you could take to ensure the security and privacy of your digital identity while operating your mobile device(s) in this environment? Discuss each step that you would take along with its advantages and disadvantages.

In order to ensure the security and privacy for the devices that we use in this environment we need to make sure that the networks that we are accessing like bluetooth connectivity, wifi access or connectivity are the secure shared and known networks or not because they are the easy way of hacking the data or data breach(Heg Jhee Jiow, 2013).

The devices should be customized in such a way that when any third party trojan tries to sneak in to the device then the data from the device should tranfered to a third party secured server and the data from the current device must be erased so that we can restrict a third party individual from stealing the information and causing a security breach(Ang, P. H.,2007)..

The servers should be upgraded with the highly complicated encrypted algorithms which can ensure the security and privacy(Osada, J., 2011). So that it would be very difficult for an external person to enter in to the server with out proper access to it which finally ensures the security for the server and privacy for the data(Leong, C., & Wai, C. K.,2005).

The mobile phones should be made authenticated with the two phase authentication systems and protocols. Because the two phase authentication need two different types of password which may include the digital identity, one time passwords, short term pin etc., which would be very difficult for a third party individual to trace the combinition and sneak in to the device(Heg Jhee Jiow 2013). They may get one of the identity correct at each trial but the other one change for every single trial. Which would be uniquely coded. The frequent change of passwords could also help to ensure the security and privacy for the data(Osada, J., 2011).
