Assignment: Create a new project

1) Create an MS Project File a) Fill in the File/Info/Project Information (dropdown arrow)/Advance Properties dialog

box/Summary tab with the project Title, Subject, and Author (you). Those are the only 3 fields you are required to fill in, and you choose what to put in those fields

b) In File/Options/General, under Project View, set the “Date Format” to the 3rd-to-bottom format option: 12:33 pm.

c) In File/Options/Schedule, under Scheduling Options for this Project, set “Duration is entered in:” to Minutes (hint: if you don’t do this, your Summary Task durations will default to “hours” duration)

d) In Project tab/Project Information, enter the Start Date to be 10/24/2018 8:00 am e) In View tab/Timescale (dropdown arrow)/Timescale, set bottom tier to (5) minutes and middle

tier to (1) hours. Make sure “Two tiers (Middle, Bottom)” is selected in “Timescale Options.” The number () is what you set “Count” to.

2) Enter the following activities into the MS Project file. Indented tasks indicate that task is a subtask to the Summary Task shown in bold.

4) In the File/Info/Project Information (dropdown arrow)/Advance Properties dialog box/Summary tab, in the “Comments” section, briefly comment on this question:

Why is there a 7-minute lag between the finish time of “Place on Cookie Sheet” (task 7), and the start time of the next task to occur, which is “Place in the oven” (task 9)?

5) Name the file Assign4 LastName FirstInitial
