Need 100 - 150 Words Post 1: Define and discuss cloud computing Cloud computing is the provision of computing services such as storage, servers, software, databases, intelligence, analytics, and networking over the internet. Cloud computing services eliminate the need to own computing infrastructure or data centers and allow the renting of similar services from a cloud service provider (Jamsa, 2012). Organizations are increasingly seeking cloud computing services because they lower operating costs and increase efficiency in running infrastructure. How cloud computing has changed how companies budget for software solutions Cloud computing is increasing in demand because it allows organizations faster innovation, resource flexibility, and economies of scale. The essence is that an organization gets to pay as they use cloud services. In turn, businesses are finding it easier to use cloud computing services because it eliminates costs that would otherwise be spent installing and running alternative computing infrastructure. Additionally, cloud computing allows businesses to scale whenever there is a need for change. Scalability and impact of cloud computing Scalability is the provision or production of computing processes in different capabilities to the extent that a system can handle increasing amounts of work due to increased resources (Rittinghouse & Ransome, 2016). In cloud computing, scalability implies the ability to conveniently and effectively decrease or increase the capacity or abilities if IT solutions. Scalability in cloud computing is advantageous because it implies more storage capacities, power, versatility, and savings. Advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing Cloud computing offers several advantages. These include easier implementation, increased accessibility and flexibility for growth. On the other hand, cloud computing limitations include lack of control; some services do not contain all the desired features and are prone to bandwidth issues (Dillon, & Chang, 2010). Post 2: Cloud Computing Cloud computing can be defined as the delivery of varied services via the Internet. These services encompass varied tools and applications such as databases, servers, software applications, networks, and data storage. With cloud-based data storage, files can be saved to remote databases and retrieve them as on-demand (Erl et al., 2013). Google’s Gmail can be seen as an instance of cloud computing. Cloud Computing Changes to Company’s Budget One of the benefits of using cloud computing services is the decrement in the cost of spending on hardware equipment and software applications. Cloud solutions enable organizations to cut down their expenses on acquiring new IT resources and hardware equipment as they offer these services on a pay-per-use basis. As the required software applications are made available by the cloud computing service providers, organizations don’t have to invest in acquiring software applications, which will help them reduce their budgets. Advantages and Disadvantages Some of the advantages of cloud computing are back-up and easy restoration of data, enhanced collaboration among individuals and organizations which foster easy sharing of information. Cloud users enjoy the benefit of low maintenance costs incurred by them (Avram, 2014). Data security and unlimited storage capacity are other added benefits. Despite the various advantages, there are some disadvantages, such as limited control over their stored data by cloud users, vendor lock-in, and the compulsory availability of internet connectivity. Public, Private, Community, and Hybrid clouds The cloud storage delivery models are of four types, public, private, community, and hybrid clouds. In the public cloud, the cloud infrastructure services are common to the general public, whereas, in a private cloud, these services are used by a single company or organization exclusively. While the public cloud can be used for free for storing data and retrieving it, the utilization of private cloud requires the payment of fees (Goyal, 2014). On the other hand, the hybrid cloud utilizes both private and public clouds in a combination and eliminates the drawbacks of the two clouds when used separately. The utilization of hybrid cloud results in enhanced scalability, cost-effectiveness, and increased security. In the community cloud, only the community members can utilize the services and are accessed through the intranet, just like private cloud and hybrid cloud. Need Response Answer for this post2.
