Assignment – Progressive Overload 1

Situation. Nayeli is a 21 year old student. After years of living a sedentary lifestyle she decides she wants to live a healthy and active life. Her goal is to run one mile without stopping. In training she currently runs one mile but broken down into four laps with a 2 minute rest between each lap. Progress Nayeli’s training to get her closer to her goal.

Note: She is running on a standard track.

· 1 Lap = 400m

· 1 Mile = 1600m

Directions. Below is a four week chart. Complete the chart by apply a four week linear periodization to Nayeli’s training. The introduction phase for week one has been provided. Progress training in weeks two and three. In week four taper training to allow for some time to rest and recover. Modify two training variables each week. Record a video of you describing the changes in training from week to week. Include the chart in your video as reference.
