The history of education In American Society
Education is described as the social institution whereby the society teaches it members about the skills, knowledge, norms, and the values needed to learn on how to be good, and productive members of the society. In the early American society, education was hardly formal. During the colonial period, the Puritans or currently known as the Massachusetts demanded that it was the responsibilities of the parents to teach their children on how to read. Large towns were required to have elementary schools to help children in learning how to read, write, and learn about religion. The schooling was not required in he colonies and only 10 percent of the colonial children from the wealthiest family went to school. Others became apprentices. To ensure that there was existence of unity after the revolutionary war, textbooks were written using common spelling and pronunciation and to make sure that patriotism and religious beliefs are instilled in students. The textbooks also had some negative stereotypes of the Native Americans and some immigrant groups. In 1800s, free and compulsory education was introduced. Children from all social classes got the opportunity of getting free and formal education. The free education was further aimed at promoting national unity and to educate the immigrants the American values. The free education also emerged due to the industrialization since the industrial economy demanded reading, writing, and math skills as compared to the agricultural economy. The free and compulsory education was introduced to both primary and secondary schools. The number of individuals who joined college was not part of the practice until mid 1900s when few people started to join colleges and most of these people were from the fairly wealthy families. After the end of World War II, there was an increase in the number of people who enrolled for the college education. At present, many people are joining colleges than before even though the attendance of the college is related to the social class.

The members of the institution sees the need to ensure that there is expansion of the high-quality early childhood education programs.
These people believe that the nation is investing less in the education of children under the age of 5 as compared to other nations with low level of enrolment in early education programs.
The members consider further training for the teachers to help students improve.
Members believe that there is less early warning system
Therefore, they see the need of making improvement and expanding the school-based early warning systems
The warning systems should be tied to the evidence-based interventions for the students who are at risks (Troyer, 2019).

The school began with the mandatory education law of 1852
According to this law each city as well as town in Massachusetts was to have public primary school.
The focus of the schools was on teaching children grammar and basic arithmetic.
Parents had the responsibility of sending children to school for 12 weeks every year until they turn 14 years.
Later the issue of segregation on the basis of raced was considered unconstitutional.

Things have changed from this point and one of the changes is the growth in the charter schools and change in the students demographics.
The homeschooling practices is reducing and the classroom are becoming crowded.
There are fewer school children of age below 18 years with higher enrolment rates (Troyer, 2019).

The conflict and functional analysis theories explains the trend in the increase in schooling for the purposes of attaining employment especially in advanced industrialize society.
The functional theory is based on the idea that educational needs is giving a reflection of the demands in the improved skills on job as a result of the technical change.
Conflict theory propose that the employment requirements is reflecting on the efforts of the competing status groups to monopolize employment
The monopolization occurs through imposing cultural standards on the selection process.
In the United States, there is a dynamic educational requirement.
This has been basically associated with the increase in mobility opportunities through school system as opposed to the independent changes in the job structure.
United states is among the top industrialized nation which demands skills and knowledge from its employers to match the growing technological demands (Cian & Amann, 2019).
