Tort Defined

A Tort is a common law jurisdiction, is a civil wrong that unfairly causes someone else to suffer loss or injury resulting in legal liability. Law recognizes torts as grounds for lawsuit. The primary aim of Tort law is to provide relief for damages incurred and deter others from committing the same harms. Tort law is state law created through judges and legislatures.
