Assignment – Persuasive Writing

Pick one of the following scenarios using persuasive writing. Refer to the PowerPoint video on writing to different audiences. As with most of my writing assignments, I will provide some basic details and you can embellish with other information as you like.

Note: I am not concerned about formatting – just write this in a Word document. I am concerned about typos and grammar.

1. You work for a major medical company in a medium-sized city in Minnesota. Your employer has joined with other health care companies throughout the country to mandate that its employees – at all levels – be vaccinated or take weekly COVID tests to prove they test negative. Your job as a communications staff employee is to write a 400-word letter to employees explaining the mandate and details behind it. Many of the employees will not be pleased to get this communication while many others have already been vaccinated.

2. You were glad to be home over the holidays and get together with friends you haven’t seen in a while. The parents of one of your best friends own an Italian restaurant, Pasta Perfecto! Several new restaurants have sprouted up over the past several years within the same neighborhood and there are fewer customers at Pasta Perfecto than before. Your friend knows you’re a PR major and asks if you’d be willing to put together a brochure that his parents can print and distribute in the neighborhood. Note: You do not need to design a brochure, just develop the text for it and submit it as a 400-word document.
