Assignment 1: Research Proposal
Task: Research and write a proposal to do research in a topic relevant to your concentration. The paper must be organized into five chapters in the following order:
Cover page
Abstract
Table of Contents
Acronyms
Chapter 1 – Introduction
Chapter 2 – Literature Review
Chapter 3 – Methodology
Chapter 4 – Findings
Chapter 5 – Conclusions
List of References
Chapter 1 – Introduction must begin with a statement of the problem (three sentences maximum), then a statement of the research question or hypothesis.
Chapter 2 – Literature Review, will only be a place holder – that is, only one page with only the title will. This Chapter will not actually be written for Assignment 1.
Chapter 3 – Methodology, will contain a brief statement of the method you intend to use to answer the research question. This usually includes identification of the variables you will use to measure the research question, a description of the population from which you intend to collect the data, the statistical method you intend to use to analyze the data, and a description of how you intend to use the data to answer the research question. Details will be forthcoming.
Chapter 4 – Findings, will only be a place holder – that is, only one page with only the title will. This Chapter will not actually be written for Assignment 1.
Chapter 5 – Conclusions, will only be a place holder – that is, only one page with only the title will. This Chapter will not actually be written for Assignment 1.
List of References, will contain at least ten scholarly articles in APA (American Psychological Association) that pertain to your proposed research problem and question.
Tips. Scholarly writings are usually identified by a list of references in the back. Search the internet/Google and Ebsco Host under keywords for your topic. Do not attempt to read the article online – look at the title and abstract, and if it appears relevant, print it out to read later, then move on to the next search.
