Creative Title: The Dilemma of Current HIV drugs
Statement of Problem and Proposed Research
As you may know the HIV virus is very deadly in towards world. As decades pass researchers learn more and more about the virus and the impact it causes to the human body. However, they still have a long way to go considering no cure has been found to help millions of people whose health has been threatened by this disease. So, with that being said, I’ve decided to do a research paper on a medical research organization called Medical R&D founded in 2015. This organization is facing the problem of supplying current HIV drugs because of the effects on the patients.
According to HIV Statics in the US: HIV.gov,2018, “Over time the number of individuals affected with HIV remain stable, but 1 out of 7 people living with HIV are unaware” The dependent variable for the research is the patient’s reaction to the drugs and the independent variable is sex. These variables will be measured by the VL. “VL”, stands for viral load, which is a laboratory test that measures the amount of HIV in a blood sample. This test is used to diagnose the different treatments choices and minor therapy for the HIV infection. This topic fits into the area of business because if companies invest more into prevention and treatment programs for HIV, the savings will outweigh the costs.
For instance, when doing business in South Africa, 40 % of workers are likely to be infected with the HIV. So many companies will be directly affected with lower productivity, vacant positions and always need to hire more workers, so of course the company will lose profit. ( SA Business Coalition on Health Aids). Others should understand this problem because HIV is affecting business by increased poverty and less supply for goods and services.
Statement of Proposed Research
During to learn more about the business of HIV research and how patients taking medication are affected by the drug. The main aim for this research is to understand the gender differences when it comes to the effects of the diagnosis and treatments. I will come up with research conducted from the clinical trials performed by both man and women.
Research Questions?
Is the reaction time of the HIV affected by gender type of patient?
From this question I hope to learn the different outcomes of infections between men and women from the HIV virus. For instance, do males experience the symptoms before men, or do females experience the symptoms first. Also, when it comes to taking a drug or therapy does one gender react differently or the same. Also does one gender needs to take more of a drug then the other gender. Basically, when it comes to the HIV viruses are male and female reactions the same or different and do they have to treat them the same way.
Is the reaction time of the HIV affected by age?
From this question, I hope to learn if there are different reactions based any age. For example, when you are a certain age can you take the same dose of the drug. Is your body reaction time the same if you are 13 years old compared to a 30-year-old?
Goals for this research paper will be to conduct some valuable research to answer my questions. Creating some good research methods for testing. Also, staying on point connecting the dots with all the information I researched. Also gain information for my own knowledge.
