Optimistic Thoughts — The timing of this accident isn't great. I'm planning to move into a new job and my recovery might impact the chances of this transfer. But I've worked really hard for the past year and I'm not going to let this stop me. I can find a way to make it work.

Optimistic Feelings — After I got home from the hospital I realized that I was afraid of how this might affect my scheduled move. That fear was a warning sign that this is an important issue that I need to pay attention to. I set up a meeting with my supervisor to talk about it next week.

Optimistic Beliefs — I've faced tough problems in the past and I've always been able to solve them. It hasn't always been easy, but with hard work and persistence, things usually work out.

Pessimistic Thoughts — This broken ankle is going to totally mess up all my plans to get transferred and move into a different job. I might as well not even bother taking these courses.

Pessimistic Feelings — This is SO embarrassing. I'm afraid that everyone will see how clumsy I am. I feel like an idiot hobbling around on these crutches. I worry that it's just a matter of time before I wipe out and get even more injured. I feel overwhelmed.

Pessimistic Beliefs — It's not fair that this happened to me. This could ruin everything for me. I don't know if I can handle this.

Describe what type of problem-solver you are, based upon the quiz in the program :

Although you may react to problems differently in different situations, it is still helpful to understand what type of problem solver you are in general. This will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses. You will know what you can capitalize on and where you need practice. The ten questions in this questionnaire will help you identify your problem-solving type. Begin by selecting the Start Button. Then answer the first question and continue by selecting the Next Question Button.

Also, they may be different when facing different types of problems. Effective problem-solving involves skills that you can learn and apply to all types of problems. Use your answers to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses so that you know what to focus on improving.
