Complete the case and regarding analyzing segmented financial information of an actual corporation. Use the most recent annual report or 10-K for a corporation to analyze the reported segmented financial information
Segmented Financial Information [REAL LIFE] Select a company that interests you and get their annual reports by visiting the company's website. Download the annual report for the most recent year. (On many company websites, you'll need to visit the Investor Relations section to get the company's financial statements.) You can also collect the company's Form 10-K information, which can be found in the Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database. (search online for "SEC EDGAR"). Basic Discussion Questions
1. Locate the company's annual report as described above. Find the company segment information; should be in the "Notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements" or another section with a similar name. Look for the word "Segment" in a heading; that's usually the section you need.
2. List the segments as reported in the annual report. Make a table listing each segment operation, its income, revenue, and assets.
3. Use the data you collected in Requirement 2 to calculate the sales margin for each segment. Interpret your results.
