Presentation and analysis of chosen article

Due date: Tuesday, Week 7, April 18, in class

Weighting: 40% of overall mark

For this task, students will choose an area of education for which to conduct some research, preferably one in which they are interested. If students are working towards a minor thesis as part of their degree, they should consider engaging with literature they may need for their project.

Students should choose one journal article from a high quality, Q1, peer-reviewed journal on which to focus this presentation. Students are required to analyse their chosen article in great depth, considering the purpose, presentation, information/content, audience, and function of the article.

Students will present a 15-20 minute professional presentation outlining the main points of the journal article, where the audience will come away with a detailed understanding of the content of the selected article. The presentation must also include the ranking of the journal from which the article was taken, the researching process (including choosing the article), and a detailed analysis of the content of the text.

The presentation should be aimed at peers, and presentation style, clarity, and presence will be taken into consideration. While notes are permissible, reading from a script will attract a lower mark.
