Assessment 5 Completing the Proposal
Overview
In this week's assessment, you will complete your course project proposal and the associated presentation for your proposal. This assignment has two deliverables.
Note: The assessments in this course are presented in sequence and must be completed in order.
Cultural and societal impacts are as important as technology impacts. In global enterprises the information technology solution must be able to be used by individuals in their overseas offices. The IT solution proposal examines core business processes and information technology (IT) infrastructure merge into enterprise architecture (EA). The proposal is based upon an analysis of business goals and determining how to integrate IT goals with the business mission. One of the key parts of the proposal is to convince key stakeholders that the IT solution fits their needs.

Assessment Instructions
Note: Developing a business proposal requires specific steps that need to be executed in a sequence. The assessments in this course are presented in sequence and must be completed in order.
Preparation
Once you have added the global considerations to your proposal, add the key points from your proposal to your PowerPoint presentation. Make sure you have reviewed the project components and have addressed all of them. Use the reading materials and any additional resources you find helpful to create a business architecture proposal with descriptions and diagrams.
Instruction
This assignment has two deliverables: Part 1) the proposal, and Part 2) the presentation. These deliverables are a coordinated communication package aligned with your project. The intent of this package is to help stakeholders make informed decisions regarding the proposed IT solution. The final written paper should be a minimum of five pages. The final presentation should be no more than five slides.
Your complete business architecture proposal documents should satisfy the following requirements:
Use your previous assignments to inform your business architecture proposal. Incorporate feedback from your instructor on previous assignments, as appropriate.
PART 1: FINAL PROPOSAL
Include the following parts: Title page. Executive summary. Background on the business or organization for whom an IT solution is being developed. Describe the business mission, goals, objectives, and systems for the company or organization (Assessment 1). Identification of the business problem and description of the proposed solution (Assessment 2). Description of business stakeholders impacted by the proposal and their requirements. (Assessment 3). Description of IT systems and stakeholders impacted by the proposal and their requirements (Assessment 4). Analysis of the impact of the addition of global locations to business and customer needs and the proposed solution. (Assessment 5). Description of possible opportunities, given the new structure, which were not possible before (Assessments 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) References list.
PART 2: FINAL PRESENTATION
Include the following parts: Presentation designed to be delivered to key decision-makers that succinctly describes the business problem and the IT solution (Assessments 3, 4, and 5). References list.
Submit both the proposal file and the presentation file to this assignment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.

APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA style and formatting found in the Capella Writing Center. Number of resources: Minimum of four resources. Length of proposal: 5–12 double-spaced pages. Length of presentation: 3–5 slides. Font and font size: Arial 10-point or Times New Roman 12-point.

Describe the business mission, goals, objectives, and systems for the company or organization for whom an IT solution is being developed. Describe the business stakeholders and their requirements. Analyze the impact of global locations on business and customer needs and an IT solution.
Competency 2: Evaluate various information technology roles needed in organizations. Describe the technology stakeholders and their requirements.
Competency 3: Plan a strategy for designing and employing an information system to meet business goals.
Identify a business problem and develop an IT solution. Competency 4: Analyze enterprise architectures and the impact they have on the effectiveness of business processes.
Evaluate TOGAF as a model to align information technology and business objectives. Competency 5: Communicate effectively using professional standards appropriate to the IT field.
Develop a presentation that succinctly describes the business problem and an IT solution. Follow APA guidelines for resources and citations, and create a document that is clearly and professionally written and generally free of grammatical errors.
