Assessment 3: Project
Summary:
Purpose: This assignment tasks students to develop a comprehensive resource package that
addresses the inclusion of students from diverse backgrounds, specifically focusing on gifted
and talented students, Indigenous students, and students whose first language is not English.
The assignment aims to evaluate the student's understanding and application of various
educational concepts and strategies related to inclusive teaching and support.
Description: Design a resource package using school, communities, and systemic
resource to promote inclusion for three out of the four other forms of diversity: (1)
Gifted and talented students; (2) Indigenous students; (3) Students whose first language is not
English; and (4) Students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds). The resource
package should provide information on differentiated teaching, learning, and assessment
planning, and strategies for how to provide support for their participation and achievement in
learning activities.
Students will be assessed on the following:
1. Identification of the challenges supported with current evidence-based practice.
2. Understanding of differentiation including knowledge of diversity and technology
integration.
3. Application of Universal Design of Learning (UDL) principles in learning and
assessment planning as well as the individualised education plan (IEP).
4. Ongoing professional learning and services supporting the student’s inclusion in
schools.
5. Overview of the strategies of involving parents, carers, and other relevant
professionals to promote the student’s inclusion in schools.
6. Reflection of the pre-service teacher’s duty of care in promoting inclusion for
each chosen diversity.
