Assessment 3 – Final Group Computer Project (50%)

Assignment Description Students will form groups of 3 to 4 students, depending on the class size. Students should discuss and debate the best argument for their selection of company. You must choose a company that has an official online website. The company must be available in Kuwait with more than two-four years of experience. You are required to identify the companies’ business processes, the old and new systems they use (including the Internet, and database systems). How they deal with competitive forces, the problems they carry in an organization, solutions they have designed and give your recommendations for future expansions from what you studied. You are required to illustrate one of the systems they are using now and modify it to a better system that you will recommend. Also, recognize ethical and social issues relating to management information systems that the organization follows. Students are strongly advised to refer to the unit text book and lecture notes. The word length 3,000 (excluding Contents page, Executive Summary, Appendices, List of References, Tables and Figures).

Group Assessment Details Each group will take on the role of consultant for that company wishing to extend their operation of the company and applying better systems that will help in the growth and success of the company. You are required to choose a company that has an official website. If you can get responses from the organization through email or know friends or family members that work there that will also be great. You can check websites of the selected company you wish to develop.

Report Format The report must include an executive summary, introduction, the investigated situation, the software’s and systems used, the problem, solution, ethical approach and recommendations. Secondary sources can be identified, used and referenced as supporting evidence for your recommendations.

Submission Group reports must be submitted by the leader of the group to turnitin on a folder placed in MyLMS. No hard copies are needed.
