Assessment Instructions |
1. Develop an appropriate thesis statement that describes an engineering-related issue clearly demonstrating your stance. 2. Find a minimum of three high-quality sources as demonstrated by the completion of the Source Reliability Checklist for each source. These must include at least two journal articles. · All sources must be approved by your instructor 3. Each source must be printed out in its entirety and annotated demonstrating that the student has read and comprehended the source. Annotation notes should be hand written and systematic using color-coded highlighting. 4. Once you have read and understood the sources, you should then select and synthesize the relevant information to formulate a writing plan using the Graphic Organizer Template for the research paper. The sources of this information must be clearly identified in the template. 5. A Pre-Writing Portfolio must be submitted to your instructor: A completed Source Reliability checklist attached to a hard copy of each of your annotated sources; one Graphic Organizer. 6. Assessment 1 will not be marked if the student does not show up for his/her feedback. (weeks 3 to 5) 7. Students must answer all questions related to their topic during their meeting/interview with the instructor. 8. Students who do not submit assessment 1 are not eligible to submit assessment 2. |
